We've been to GK's many times for breakfast/brunch, however it's been 'years' since we've gone for dinner.

Does anyone have any insight on what characters are there during dinner and what the buffet selections are? I believe that the price is $40 per person (including tax & tip), is this right for the end of March?

Trying to put some 'finishing' touches on our trip ~ Thank you!!

April :)

We were there in September 2009 for dinner. We saw Chip N Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Mad Hatter, Jazmine, and Belle in her peasant outfit. They do a dance and "bake a cake" together in the middle of the floor area with Goofy---my kids love it.

As for food, they had PBnJ pizza, mac n cheese, and chicken nuggets. For grownups, they had Roast Beef and a ton of sides...salads and appetizer things (lots of Asian food like potstickers) and a lot of desserts. There were more main courses than just the Roast Beef, that's all I can really remember though. It is a fairly large selection and all six of us found something to eat, and there are some picky eaters in my group.

Hope that helps! We really like Goofy's Kitchen and have done every character meal except the new Mickey's Breakfast---when I ask the kids which one they want they always want Goofy's.

We had dinner there the week before Xmas and I recall: Alice, Mad Hatter, Goofy, Pluto (photo out front), Chip & Dale, Genie from Aladdin, and Minnie. I thought the food selection was fine and not as varied as some of the buffets in WDW. In addition to what is listed above, I recall roasted chicken, baked salmon, some pork dish? There were two premixed salad options -- a caesar and something else + fixings. Lox was available, too. Both DH and DM commented said they really thought the quality was very good and would rate the meal as better than the other buffets we've had onsite at WDW.

That was our first character meal ever at DL (and our first trip to DL in 10+ years). Is there a character dinner at DL where one could count on seeing Mickey? And is there any meal where the Pooh characters appear?

No character dinner with Mickey. Pooh and his friends appear at the Minnie & Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn. Goofy's Kitchen has the widest variety of food for breakfast, but Minnie & Friends has the most characters (with mixed reviews of the food quality). Tigger & Eeyore are usually there, and sometimes even Piglet.

We love Goofy's Kitchen for dinner! We've been there twice.

The first time we saw: Goofy, Pluto, Mulan, Chip, Dale, Alice, and Minnie. There may have been one more, but I can't remember.

The second time we saw Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Cinderella, Snow White and Gideon from Pinocchio.

Have fun. We loved it! :thumbsup2

We did Goofy's for dinner last fall and saw: Pluto, Goofy, Aladdin, Jasmine, Minnie, Chip and Dale, and Pinocchio (I think maybe Geppetto too but I don't have a photo of him). My kids loved it -- even my skeptical 13-year-old has a smile in every picture.

p.s. Don't forget about all the ways to get a discount -- prepaid vouchers, AP discount, AAA discount, etc.

I am so glad to hear you all enjoyed it (I know you had a big group with you!)! I remember when Goofy's was not going to be an option for you at first, and it was going to be Storytellers instead. So, being the Goofy's fan that I am, I was wondering how your Ocotber meal would go with all of those people, and it sounds like it scored a big:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Sherry --

Yes, we had a knockout time at Goofy's. I didn't do a trip report, but it was definitely a great way to kick off our trip.

We convinced them to push two tables together and had 15 of us at one! I never would have been brave enough to try a character meal for this many people without the input of this board. My kids got to interact with the characters so much at the dinner that we were able to skip most of the character lines in the park (we made room for Mickey and Pixie Hollow).

Goofy's Kitchen highlights for us:
DD7, asking Aladdin where Abu was. Aladdin said they didn't allow monkeys in the restaurant.:cutie:

Trying to convince DH to get his picture with Jasmine, his *favorite* princess. I was unsuccessful.

DS4 dancing with Goofy. I have a fun picture of them posing together like they are disco stars!
A great group picture with all 15 of us and Pluto at the entrance.

Hope this also gives others an idea of what an awesome time they can have at Goofy's!

Last November we saw Pluto (in the photo area), Chip, Dale, Alice, Minnie, Goofy and Jasmine one night.

The second night we saw Minnie (in the photo area), Pluto, Chip, Dale, Goofy, Geppetto, Baloo and Aladdin.

At previous visits we've also seen Mulan at dinner time.

In December we saw Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Minnie, Aladdin, and Cinderella at a 5:30 PS.

Sounds like this would be fun, do you have to make a reservation? and if so how far ahead? sorry for hijacking your thread OP!! :flower3:

Thanks for all the input! Sounds like a great mix of characters ~ almost the same that you would see at breakfast.

We're still playing with the idea of either breakfast or dinner. If we go with breakfast we'll go earlier than we did last year. Our PS was at 12:15 and while the characters were still interactive and such, the wait staff we're trying to get things cleared and cleaned up. We didn't see our 'waitress' after she brought us our beverages. I had to go ask for someone to bring DD her 'birthday cupcake'.

What time do you all recommend for dinner PS's? I was thinking around 6:00, that way we could enjoy a leisurely/casual meal, and still get back to the park for a few hours of FUN!! (DLR is open until midnight the whole time we're there :) )

Thanks again everyone ~ You all rock!!

April :)
