Goofy's Great Birthday Bash NEW 6/2 page 34

Day 5- A Very Early Morning

Although I loved the special time with Goofy, I was missing dh and the other boys a whole lot. I never seem to sleep as well without dh sleeping next to me, so when I found myself tossing and turning in the wee hours of the morning, I decided to get up and enjoy some time on the balcony. I grabbed my camera, wrapped up in the robe they had hanging in the closet, nabbed a fruit tart that we had in the room fridge from one of our earlier meals and a bottle of water we had left over from room service the night before and quietly snuck out on to the balcony instead of just flopping around trying to convince myself to sleep. I was well rewarded for my troubles. This is what I saw:

Soon, I was delighted to see the sun rising. It was very beautiful and most especially peaceful. I felt so blessed to have had that time!
wdw09418.jpg

What a great way to begin a day. I don't do it often but I always feel blissful when I am able to watch the sun make it's way up into the sky. Some of my favorite WDW memories involve watching the sunrise. I already have wonderful memories/pictures of doing so at the CR, the WL and at AKL. I was happy to be able to add another Disney sunrise to my list. :cloud9::goodvibes

Shortly after sunrise I made my way back inside and took my time getting ready. Then, I grabbed my Kindle and made my way across the hall to the lounge while Goofy continued to get some more sleep. I enjoyed an early morning cup of tea while catching up on some reading. In no time at all, it was time to wake up my sleeping Goofy, doing breakfast and then heading out to jump on a Friendship launch. We were heading to Disney Hollywood Studios on this day and we were both very excited to be on our way.

As we boarded we said good morning to the captain and he asked us if Goofy would like to come up and see how the boat ran. So while everyone else was continuing to board and getting settled, Goofy got a mini tutorial in captaining a Friendship launch. He was all smiles!

wdw09421.jpg

We found so many of the Friendship launch captains to be amazingly friendly and helpful. Two thumbs way up for the water transportation in the EPCOT resort area!

In what felt like no time at all we were walking through the turnstiles at DHS. The opening act was cute and both of us found ourselves laughing at the silly jokes and banter. We got there before the park opened so that we could head over and grab a set of fast passes to ride TSM as soon as the park opened. Well, apparently us and everyone else who was at DHS for the day had the same idea. By the time we walked directly over (we didn't run but we far from 'slowly strolling' either) and stood in the lines that had already formed in front of the multiple fast pass machines and then inserted our cards into the machine we were already looking at a FOUR HOUR return time!! Our return time was right about 1:00! :confused3 I think every single person at DHS's park opening must have gone straight to the Pixar area. It was jam packed. I took one look at the already crazy stand by wait time and we cleared out of that area of the park (with our fast passes safely stowed away).

Up first for us? Well, this was Goofy's trip and he loves the Muppet's so we headed over to Muppet's 3-D.

wdw09424.jpg

As always, we found Muppet's 3-D to be funny and both of us ended up laughing a whole lot. After the show, we took some of our precious early morning park time and did a little bit of shopping in the Muppet's store.

On of the biggest surprise of this morning came when Goofy requested to just walk around exploring for a bit. I was happy to accommodate him and once again reminded of just how different my boys are. No ride fest for my lil' Goof for sure!

Look who we found. Ha ha ha.

Sorry folks, I guess this will just be a partial update. I just glanced down at the clock and realized that I have to be at the soccer fields in only 6 hours. AHHHH. It's way past time to head for bed. :cloud9: Night DISers! I will finish this update soon. :thumbsup2

Jay -

Little Buzz is growing up so fast! I can't believe it. What great early morning pictures. I really like the one of the sun coming up. I just hope when we go to WDW in October not everyone has the idea of rushing to TSM to get a Fastpass since that is my idea as well :rotfl2:

Don't you just love those quiet moments sitting out on the balcony soaking in the atmosphere?!! Love your sunrise photos - can I use the last one as my screensaver please? It is absolutely beautiful!! Your son is so adorable - sometimes I wish my youngest was still at that age but at 16, I have to admit I'm very proud of him (and all my boys, for that matter). Goofy is such a delightful endearing young man :goodvibes and his mom is the best for making this trip special :thumbsup2

Holy cow!! I cannot get over how grown up both Aladdin and Buzz are looking! I hardly recognize them.

Wow Jay Buzz has gotten so big and as others have said aladdin is turning into a young man :goodvibes

I have many early mornings at WDW thanks to jetlag and it really is a magical time, everything is so quiet and fresh, beautiful :)

Your day at DHS sounds lovely, well except the TSM madness  :rotfl:

My DH is with Goofy--loves the Muppets. Hope the soccer game was a success and looking forward to the next installment.

I understand how hard it is to sleep without your husband by your side. I had never been without mine for more then a day in the last 15 years that we've been together until last June. I took DD to california to visit my dad for a week, it was aweful to be away from DH that long. ((guess that means we're in love. :lovestruc))

I'm glad you were able to catch the sunrise though. I don't think I've EVER had the pleasure while at wdw. I should try it sometime.

Great pictures and update.

How cute is Buzz? I mean seriously, he's SO STINKIN CUTE!!! And Aladdin? Better lock the doors now...the girls are going to be lining up!!

Wow!! Little Buzz is growing up already!! :goodvibes Such a cutey!! All of your sons are growing up!! Silly comment, but you know what I mean! :rotfl:
Those "can't sleep" pictures are great! Ahh.....quiet moments! :goodvibes

Buzz is so big! I'm so glad you are continuing - and,"Illegitimi non carborundum!"

Jaime

Jay, love your updates and pictures! All your boys are getting so big (and handsome)! :goodvibes

Hi Jay! If I saw Buzz out somewhere I would never have recognized him! What a change!!! He is darling! And I do see that glint in his eye...:goodvibes
Good for you getting out there on the balcony to soak up the Boardwalk at night instead of tossing and turning, and then to be rewarded with the beautiful sunrise. :cloud9:
Looks like another good start to another fun day at Disney!
PS Hi Heidi!!!

Buzz is adorable, omg he's not a tiny little baby anymore! And WOW did Aladdin grow up!!

Such a great quiet morning by yourself! I love to watch the sun come up, it's such a wonderful quite time for reflection.

Aladdin is starting to look like a full fledged teenager! I can't beleive my son is 16 & driving - it goes way to fast. Little Buzz looks go big. He doesn't even look like the same guy from previous TR's. Maybe it is the hair?;)

It's almost scary how fast they grow, isn't it? My 9 year old DS is almost eye-to-eye with me. I keep asking him to stop growing - he rolls his eyes and says "Mom, I HAVE to grow!"

Another great installment - love that Stitch picture!!:thumbsup2 And another big thumbs-up to sunrise at WDW!:goodvibes

I cant believe how much your sons are growing, even from when I started to read your trip reports!!

Nothing better than sitting before a beautiful sunrise and reflecting and relaxing!

I love sunrise pictures. One day, when I have time to learn how to really make good use of my camera, I am going to take lots more sunrise pictures (at WDW and elsewhere, I love both sunrises and even more, sunsets). HA HA HA, I think the lines at TSM will likely stay long until Disney stops promoting it as it's newest must do. The fast pass lines move fairly quickly and then just make sure to clear out of the area, it gets pretty smushy over there. ;)

Don't you just love those quiet moments sitting out on the balcony soaking in the atmosphere?!! Love your sunrise photos - can I use the last one as my screensaver please? I do love those moments...they really allow you to relax and appreciate things! SURE!! I would love to think of someone looking at that picture and smiling. :) And thank you!!

I keep saying that every age they hit is my favorite age. I have deceided that a 'bad age' doesn't exist as I have wished to be able to keep them frozen in time at every age they have hit so far. :cloud9: WOW, 16, that's driving age!!

And  I sure do love my lil' Goof, thanks for the kind words!

Holy cow!! I cannot get over how grown up both Aladdin and Buzz are looking! I hardly recognize them.
Me either!:lmao:

Wow Jay Buzz has gotten so big and as others have said aladdin is turning into a young man :goodvibes

It is really fresh and there seems to be so much possibility at the start of a day, it's so exciting to sit and try to imagine all of the magic that the unfolding day will hold!

*Sigh...the boys are growing up so fast, all of them....sigh*

My DH is with Goofy--loves the Muppets. Hope the soccer game was a success and looking forward to the next installment.
They did end up winning that soccer game (and all but one other one that weekend) and came in second place in a tournament. It was a lot of fun to watch but also a LOT of time sitting on a folding chair. :rotfl: I have a love/hate relationship with soccer tournaments. :rotfl2:

Great pictures and update.
Dh and I will be married 15 years this coming September and I still miss him every single night he's not by my side. It's not that I cannot 'be alone' it's that I prefer him there. I love being able to curl up next to him and share my day with him and hear all about his. That's the thing I missed most while I was on these solo trips with the boys this year (well, that and their brothers). :lovestruc

And, YES, do make sure to see a WDW sunrise...it's pixie dusted for sure!

How cute is Buzz? I mean seriously, he's SO STINKIN CUTE!!! And Aladdin? Better lock the doors now...the girls are going to be lining up!!
HA ha ha. I wish I could find some 'girl repellent'. :rotfl2: I don't think Aladdin would mind (YET) if I sprayed him with it. While he doesn't exactly mind the attention and actually seems to enjoy it when it comes from girls who are able to keep up with him on the soccer field, he doesn't seem too keen on calling them back or answering the little notes they throw in his backpack (I just find them wadded up in the bottom of the laundry basket so far:rotfl2:). I know it's coming, but I am glad he seems to be okay with slowly easing into it rather than jumping into the deep end. :lmao:

Wow!! Little Buzz is growing up already!! :goodvibes Such a cutey!! All of your sons are growing up!! Silly comment, but you know what I mean! :rotfl:
Those "can't sleep" pictures are great! Ahh.....quiet moments!
He is growing so quickly. I have to force myself to say no to his big eyes and cheeks and bouncing hair sometimes. He is too cute for his own good at times. :rotfl:

I can't believe how big Little Buzz is! Time flies by doesn't it?
It does. :sad2: I do wish I had a pause button to hit every now and again. ;)

Buzz is so big! I'm so glad you are continuing - and,"Illegitimi non carborundum!"

Hee hee hee, I love that line! I had a college professor who said that the first day of a history of modern war class. Every so often he would write it on the board until one day a guy asked him just which ones weren't supposed to grind us down. :lmao: I loved that day because we were supposed to have a but since someone finally 'cracked the code' of the 'mock-Latin' and we were able to discuss it as it applied to WWII that we all got 100's on that quiz and out of class early. :thumbsup2 Not much better than that! :thumbsup2 And, thank you. :cutie:

PS Hi Heidi!!!
I look back at pictures from less than a year ago and scratch my head as to just how he can be the same little guy. He has changed a LOT! When he was born his hair was a VERY dark brown with very loose waves. Next it faded to a light brownish red and got even wavier. Then he lost most of his hair and was a bald cutie. After that his hair grew in blonde with curls (oh those curls...SO CUTE!). After his first hair cut, he's kept the blonde hair but it's now stick straight. ???? All of this in just over two years. :rotfl: I can hardly keep up! :rotfl2:

PS HI HEIDI from me too.

Jay, love your updates and pictures! All your boys are getting so big (and handsome)!
Thanks and thanks again! :)

OMG Buzz is so Handsome...and Grown!!
Thanks!:goodvibes

Buzz is adorable, omg he's not a tiny little baby anymore! And WOW did Aladdin grow up!!

Such a great quiet morning by yourself! I love to watch the sun come up, it's such a wonderful quite time for reflection.
Buzz is two going on twelve. He seems to think he can and should do everything his big brothers do. It's so often times very entertaining to watch him try. :rotfl:

Aladdin is starting to look like a full fledged teenager! I can't beleive my son is 16 & driving - it goes way to fast. Little Buzz looks go big. He doesn't even look like the same guy from previous TR's. Maybe it is the hair?
DRIVING.:scared1: Time does fly!! He really does look different from just this past September's trip report. He was in his 'loosing my reddish hair' stage then. It grew back in so much lighter and curlier! And his hair does change the way his entire face looks.

It's almost scary how fast they grow, isn't it? My 9 year old DS is almost eye-to-eye with me. I keep asking him to stop growing - he rolls his eyes and says "Mom, I HAVE to grow!"

Another great installment - love that Stitch picture!! And another big thumbs-up to sunrise at WDW!:goodvibes
OMGoodness...your nine year old is almost eye to eye with you? WOW, he msut be tall!! I love his answer...that cracks me up. :lmao: And sadly, it's true.

I cant believe how much your sons are growing, even from when I started to read your trip reports!!

Nothing better than sitting before a beautiful sunrise and reflecting and relaxing!
When I look back at previous trip reports I am almost in disbelief as to just how much they have changed. When you are with them every single day the changes seem so gradual/minor but when you take a look back it's almost impossible to believe they have grown/grown up so much in so little time!
