Goofy's Great Birthday Bash NEW 6/2 page 34

Such a wonderful day! I didn't know there were so many nooks & crannies in the WS. I love the kick back squirrel.

Thank you Jay! Out of all the trip reports I read on here yours are my favorite!:flower3:

I remember how your trip with Stitch was a "ride marathon"! Goofy's trip seems much more laid back. Isn't it wonderful how unique and special each of your children are?

If I'm blessed enough to have children one day, I hope to have memorable vacations like yours.

Sounds like a perfect day! I really need to incorporate more down time in to our trips.
Great update! :thumbsup2

What a great day! It sounded incredibly enjoyable and relaxing. That is my favorite kind of day at Disney too - it really does make for a memorable day! Love the Sweedish Chef toy, he's my fav. :goodvibes Bork! Bork! Bork! ;)

And I always learn something new, didnt know Remy was even there LOL!!

Thanks again for your wonderful ideas!!
I look forward to your next trippie too LOL!!! you should write a book!!
I hope some of those ideas spark your imagination! :) It is so much fun to surprise those you love at WDW (or anywhere really). ;)

I love ostrich!!! I had it 2x's at Jiko last year. They offered it as an appetizer.....it reminded me of filet. We are doing Cali Grill the first and last nights of this trip. We even cancelled the Cinderella and step sisters character meal at GF because DD wanted to go back. Glad she is a little 'foodie'....cause mama likes to eat!
Ostrich is amazing! I am so glad I tried it and I will happily order it any chance I get! It's so much fun to have a 'foodie child', isn't it! You get to use them as an excuse to eat great food!;)

What a fabulous update Jay! It sounds like the day suited Goofy to a tee, a far cry from your run from ride to ride trip with Stitch! Isn't it funny how siblings can be so different?

Your time with Remy sounds like so much fun, I'll have to put Chef's on my list of places to try. And, can you believe I've never had a Grey Goose Slush??? I plan to remedy that in May!!
It was SUCH a different pace the entire time we were there. I was surprised by just how different two brothers could be. You are right, it is REALLY funny just how different siblings can be!

More! More! Although I'm very much enjoying this trip report, I'm waiting and waiting for the big surprise to come at the end of the week. I've been waiting for that since you started the TR! I can't wait to hear how Goof reacted!
I cannot wait to write about that very thing. It's one of my favorite memories of all time. :goodvibes And don't worry, I have a ton more time at WDW to write about. I am SO far behind!:laughing:

What a great way to end the perfect day!!!!
It really was! :cloud9:

That squirrel so cute. I'm glad to hear more about your trip! :woohoo:
I know, that squirrel really was cute. It reminded me of when I was a little girl and my mom would call a wild squirrel with a whistle and feed him dried corn kernels and peanuts. After he would run and deposit his nuts/corn into his various hiding spots he would sometimes lay on the stone slabs in our garden...just like that squirrel was on the tree. So, not only did the squirrel at EPCOT crack me up, he reminded me of a long ago, almost forgotten part of my childhood that I was then able to share with Goofy. That's a whole lot of enjoyment out of a bushy tailed rodent! Then again, we all get a whole lot of enjoyment out of a certain rodent named Mickey as well.

What a wonderful day! Love your pics of Chefs!
How nice that Goofy studied Morocco prior to your trip! I am hoping to study a few countries found in Epcot before our trip. I saw a curriculum designed just for Epcot at the last homeschooling convention I went to, so I am looking into that. When we had King Tut come to our area, we were able to incorporate a study of that into our homeschooling routine. It sure made the kids appreciate the exhibit all the more!
Great update, looking forward to the next one!
I would love any info you have on that curriculum. If I have shared this link with you before please ignore me. I am I am burning up my brain cells trying to keep up with four boys.:lmao: But I started a thread many moons ago that dealt with learning ideas to use prior to, during or after a Disney vacation. Maybe some of those ideas will work for you. :goodvibes Here's the link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1145853

What a magical day! That is really neat how you got to interact with Remi! On my next trip I am going to have to try relaxing more and spending more time exploring! I seem to miss so many details!
Remy was adorable! I loved how he moved. He looked very life like. He was VERY well done. His movements seemed so lifelike and his little sqeaks and chatter was so well inflected that it seemed as if he were 'talking' back to us. It was AMAZING. I could have visited with him for a good long time! EPCOT is a place that seems to give you more the more time you give it. There is so much to see, taste, touch, try, hear, smell, do and appreciate. I was very happy that Goofy was up for slowing down and enjoying our time there.

:rotfl: The Swedish Chef is my favorite muppet character! I love the crazy song that he sings - makes me laugh out loud when I think of it. You and Goofy had a great day at Epcot. What a fun lunch with Remy! Your Morocco pics are really nice - I love all the details - and I can't wait to really slow down and explore the details of the WS when I go in November on my adult-ladies-only trip. The Grey Goose Slush is on the top of my to-do list! :thumbsup2
I couldn't stop laughing at Goofy's Swedish Chef voice. I find myself laughing out loud at Goofy's rendition of the Swedish Chef's crazy little ditty whenever I think about it. :rotfl2: Remy gets two thumbs way in the the air from us. I wouldn't hesitate to dine with him again...something I never thought I would write about a rat. DO NOT MISS THAT SLUSHIE!! Oh yum! :cloud9::love:

Jay, i'm so glad you're writing again. Screw the haters. Unfortunately i've had to deal with YEARS of being harassed by an ex-friend on the Internet, and i'd be lying if i said it still didn't sting when i find out she's been running her mouth. But i too know the feeling of defiance that comes after that initial shock - and i'm glad you're choosing to focus on that! You have a great admirer in me, and it looks like i'm not alone.

Enjoyed these chapters, and i just LOVED Remy! i YouTube'd some videos of him, he's so darn cute!
Thanks for sticking with this very drawn out trip report. Hopefully I can keep up a much quicker pace from now on. ;) I admit I sometimes watch him on YouTube. He's just such a cute little rat!

Not again :sad2: We haven't got plans to return for a while but when we do I'll be PMing you just in case :rotfl2:

What a fabulous day, everything sounded lovely and it sounds as though Remy was a big hit :thumbsup2
Awww, I guess we did do it again. One would think we were purposely trying to avoid each other.:lmao: We need to triple check next time! :) It would be a lot of fun to enjoy an afternoon with Tour Guide Jo! ;)

What a wonderful day! I can't believe how empty WS was! I love that you guys took your time exploring, had a surprise at lunch, pool time and then room service for dinner. Love room service!... it's always a treat. :goodvibes Those CMs sound just wonderful, they can really make the trip extra special!
We got very lucky with empty parks. It was a dream come true almost every day of our vacation. I love it when the crowds are missing from whatever park I am at. :lmao:

Hi Jay!! I've been away from Disboards for awhile.....found facebook! :rotfl:
I was very saddened & horrified to read about the trouble you had endured on the Boards from one (I'm hoping it was only one) disgruntled, sad, envious, strange person. :sad2: Enough of that!
I had a lot to catch up with on this TR! Sounds like it was absolutely lovely for you & Goofy! :thumbsup2 How wonderful!!! :goodvibes
Tell me about it...Facebook just sort of sucks you in! I cannot help but check it at least once a day just to see what is new with people (mind you people I might never see again in person but still, I seem to feel the need to know the latest in their lives.:rotfl:) . It is so addictive!

It's great to see you back here at the DIS!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time at WS. How nice to have that one-on-one time with your son. They all need a little individual attention sometimes and how great to do that at WDW!
It was such a treat for us. Me maybe even more than him. To have that one on one time with each of the boys was the best gift I could have ever given myself. I rarely find time to spend an entire day with just one of the boys these days. I guess something about them outnumbering me 4 to 1 sort of does it. We really did have a wonderful time!

Sounds like a perfect day!:cloud9:
I really enjoyed touring EPCOT that way. Hopefully we can talk the rest of our family into a slower EPCOT tour next time we are on vacation. :)

Such a wonderful day! I didn't know there were so many nooks & crannies in the WS. I love the kick back squirrel.
There is so much in the WS that I feel as I have not seen even half of it despite my many visits. It was a lot of fun to just lose ourselves in the details.

Thank you Jay! Out of all the trip reports I read on here yours are my favorite!:flower3:

I remember how your trip with Stitch was a "ride marathon"! Goofy's trip seems much more laid back. Isn't it wonderful how unique and special each of your children are?

Oh my goodness, you just made my day! I never imagined being anyone's favorite trip report writer with som many GREAT ones out there. Thanks for making me smile like the cheshire cat!

It was such a ride marathon with my little Stitch. He wanted speed, speed and more speed. And that applied to both the rides we rode and the pace we toured the parks at. Goofy was SO much more laid back! He just sort of wanted to explore and see what struck his fancy from moment to moment. Sometimes it was the rides and then we would ride the same ride over and over. Other times it was the food and we would snack or dine until we were about to burst. Yet other times it was all about the shopping. And then again there were times when it was just about the details. I loved seeing WDW through his eyes!

Any vacation with those you love is memorable (I think), it's so special just to have that time together to enjoy one another and whatever you are doing together. :cloud9:

Sounds like a perfect day! I really need to incorporate more down time in to our trips.
Great update! :thumbsup2
I have never once wished we did less of the down time during our trips but have wished we would have done a little bit more of it. ;) Down time at WDW is anything but boring! :thumbsup2

All caught up; I'm so glad you came back to finish!
Thanks and I am glad you stuck around! :cutie:

What a great day! It sounded incredibly enjoyable and relaxing. That is my favorite kind of day at Disney too - it really does make for a memorable day! Love the Sweedish Chef toy, he's my fav. :goodvibes Bork! Bork! Bork! ;)
Ha ha ha! Swedish Chef seems to be tops on lots of people's lists. My favorite is Animal. I love his silly antics and frantic energy.

And I always learn something new, didnt know Remy was even there LOL!!
Remy is there for during the lunch hours M-F I think. I am not sure that he appears at all on the weekends and I know he doesn't appear past 5 or 6 on weekdays. At least that info was current as of December of 2009.

PS where was the tangerine treat from?
That delicious bit of tangerine heaven was from the Kaki Gori stand in Japan. It's just a small stand near the drummers (I think?).

I forgot to add these in to previous installments...so for your viewing pleasure :lmao::cool1::rotfl: I will include them now. ;)

I am too lazy to go back and insert them in all of the installments but I think some of them are too sweet not to include. :3dglasses

Our very low crowd day at MK.

Please note the lack of crowds even as we were leaving in the afternoon! It was crazy *crazy great* quiet at MK that day!

I will have another update soon. I am working on getting the photos uploaded and sorted. :) Thanks for bearing with me.

UNBELEIVABLE!!!!!:yay: How in the world do you always seem to hit at LOW crowd times? In the words of Napolean Dynamite - LUCKYYYYYY!

Those crowds are sooo low! I am jelous! I was there the the 2nd weekend in December! Wish we would have ran into each other!! I think you sooo much for helping with my surprise for my anniversary!

LOVE the photopass pictures. I think my favorite is the one in front of all the balloons. :)

Jay...just wanna mention...you are my FAV trippie writer, too! :goodvibes You are just such an expert in everything! From planning suprises, to food advice, ride strategies, crowd levels, disney cruise stuff...etc...A big THANKS for helping us in some sort of way! Your lil' Prince must NOT be that lil' anymore..a very happy belated birthday...I'm guessing he's two already? Can't wait for more! Any upcoming trips scheduled?

Low crowd visits are my goal each and every trip. I enjoy people watching and seeing the joy on others faces a whole lot but I really dislike standing behind people in line. ;) You pay so much to get into the parks then to waste any more time than needed in line....:confused3 I just hate the thought of it. I have been so spoiled by the off season. I cannot imagine ever going during a peak season time period.

And... I credit Tour Guide Mike with helping me pick which park to visit on what day. I bow to his crowd pattern savvy!:worship: I purchase his planning services before every vacation. I find them to be the most accurate. I am a die hard fan of his!!

The crowds were great in December too, weren't they? Not quite as empty but slow enough to not have to worry about them much. :) I had so much fun hearing your plans! I would love to see some pictures or hear all about your fabulous surprise! I bet it was so very romantic!

LOVE the photopass pictures. I think my favorite is the one in front of all the balloons. :)
I always ask them to take our picture in front of the balloons at MK. I love them, they remind me of being there with my own parents and walking around with one tied to my wrist while holding my dad's hand. Every single time I see them, they bring back great memories of long ago trips. :cloud9:

Loving the Updates...ya'lls pictures are too cute!! Looks like you had such a fun day!!:cool1:
We had a lot of fun on this vacation! It was great to have the time with Goofy and the empty parks! :)

Sweet pictures!! :thumbsup2
:cloud9:Thanks!

Thank you! What a very sweet thing for you to say. :) I only wish I was an expert!! Every single time I go to WDW or even spend time planning to go to WDW I learn more than a few new things! I love to ferret out the little known and find new ways to enjoy our vacation each time we go. There is just so much to see and do...what a wonderful place!!

My Little Prince (aka Buzz Lightyear) is not so little anymore at all! He is all over the place and into everything he can find. He makes us all laugh over and over again. He's so much fun to have around. He has the same glint in his eyes that Stitch does. Here are some recent pictures because I don't think me saying how much he has changed will even begin to explain it. ;)

With his biggest brother, Aladdin.

Sometimes I swear I blink and he has grown up just a bit more.

Wow - I wouldn't have recognized Buzz from those pics Jay! He has gotten so big, and he is just as cute as can be too :goodvibes

Not to mention Aladdin, he now looks nothing like a boy, but rather a young man. It's so much fun seeing your children grow and change over the years!

I can't believe how big my little nugget has gotten!! And soooo fast!! It seems like just yesterday we were all praying for him and for you and here it is; time has passed.

BUT .... he is still my little nugget.

And Aladdin is gorgeous!! That boy is going to be a girl killer!

I'm so enjoying your Trip Report. So much fun to share in such wonderful birthday trips! Thanks for taking us along.

xoxo
