Goofy's Great Birthday Bash NEW 6/2 page 34

OMG! I cannot believe that park was so empty. I would love to find MK like that one day and just jump from ride to ride with no waits. I know that made your time with Goofy even more special!

Love the castle pics and the evil stepmothers and stepsisters just cracked me up. How lucky you were to stumble across them. Donald looks so adorable in his Frontierwear. :goodvibes

So, what's for lunch????

Glad you were able to save Goofy from those crazy stepsisters! :scared:

I really can't get over how empty the park was - nor can I get over the fact that you rode the teacups two times in a row!! :rotfl:

Hi Jay, catching up here... I think your Breathless cruise looked wonderful, magical, and exciting!!!!! This is another "wish" for someday when we ever get back down there.
The BWI breakfast looks well worth the price of staying on that level. Lots of choices and I have to say we bought a lot of those chocolate croissants, they are gooood!
I am disbelief at the lack of people in MK! That is like having your very own MK to play in! I think I would have been checking around corners to see if everyone was hiding somewhere! ;)

i can't believe how empty it was!!! hope it's like that for us!

Wow!! I've never seen the parks that empty. It's amazing!!

I was so disappointed not to get to meet the stepsisters this time. That's a wish for a future trip for sure. Maybe when my son gets a little older, they'll be more interested in us! :rotfl:

Oh my goodness! An empty park! Wow, you really lucked out. :thumbsup2 What day was that? We were at Magic Kingdom on the 12th (Sat.) and the 17th (Thurs.) and both days were fairly busy. I think we always end up going on a Spectromagic day and maybe that makes a difference. :confused3 I think next year you should tell us what days to go to what park. ;)
Lovely pictures!

Lovely pictures!
Do they not do Spectromagic every day? Or did that change? We are probably going next week and I was wondering so that we could make sure to be there on the days they do it.

Wow Jay MK looks just like it did during Hurricane Faye but without the wind and rain :rotfl: How fantastic to have the park so empty and do everything you wanted too!!!

Wow, how great to have the whole park almost to yourselves. I bet Goof was very excited. Being at WDW on your Birthday is awesome, but being at WDW on your birthday with little to no crowds is even better.:cool1: I am so happy for you guys!

I think Spectromagic in November is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. You had better check to make sure, though.:) It is really neat and worth seeing.
Have a great trip!

Day 3: At Liberty to Have Lunch ;)

Within a few minutes of entering the Liberty Tree Tavern, we were shown to our seats. Our meal started off with one of my favorite appetizers of the trip, blue crab, spinach, cream cheese, tomato dip with flat bread wedges for dipping. It was TO-DROOL-FOR-GOOD! And being as it was an appetizer made for two the two of us had no trouble sharing it.

I really wish I had just ordered that as my meal. It was so good I didn't want to stop eating it but made myself stop in order to leave room for my main course. I chose the New England Pot Roast. It was braised beef in a cabernet wine and mushroom sauce served with mashed potatoes and garden vegetables. It was a solid choice but paled in comparison to the crab spinach dip I had just been munching on a few minutes earlier.

For his main course, Goofy went with the kid's pizza and fruit salad(being as their was not a kid's fish entrée on the menu). He said it was tasty but wished we had more of the crab dip as well.
wdw09295.jpg

Although neither of us had much room left for dessert, we happily took a few nibbles of our top picks. Goofy picked the kid's ice cream sundae. Mine was the caramel apple tart which was sugared apples in a shortbread crust and cinnamon ice cream.

After lunch we had a few more rides to check off before we were ready to head back to the BWI. First up on our after lunch ride schedule? A tour of a haunted mansion!

After our spooky tour, we opted for heading back up to the front of the park instead of walking back to use our fast passes for Splash Mountain, instead, we handed off our fast passes to a passing couple and cut through Fantasyland on our way to the front of the park. As we passed through, we stopped and saw Mickey's Philharmagic. Sitting there watching the jewels 'fly' out over the head's of the guests seated in front of us, I couldn't help but remember the sweet memories of my little guys all mesmerized by the
floating jewels tumbling toward them that were still out of their reach. I could almost see their little hands reach up and grab for the jewels and the amazed looks on their faces. When I glanced at Goofy, he had his hand up and sort of poking in the general path of the jewels flight. I sighed out loud and smiled, I was glad that even with how fast he was growing and how much he was changing his hand still shot up to try and touch a jewel.

On our way out, I snapped some of my very favorite pictures from the entire trip. I love how happy he looks in these!

One final character meeting before we left.
wdw09325.jpg

We did not take the bus back to the BWI. Instead, we just hopped on the nearest water taxi and got off at the GF (since it was the first stop). Once there we each grabbed a bottle of water using snack credits and then hopped into a waiting cab. Even with the boat ride tacked on, it was so much faster. I was happy to be able to spend the money to avoid the headache (which it is for me) of riding the buses. ;) Here's a picture of Goofy on the ride over to the GF.

Upon our return to the BWI, we stopped by the lounge and gulped down even more water. Maybe that crab dip had a high salt content? Whatever the reason, Goofy and I were both very thirsty on this afternoon. The CMs in the lounge offered us a large glass bottle of Evian water to take back to our room. I thought that was very thoughtful. Going straight across the hall, we entered our room and quickly changed into our swimsuits.

The rest of our afternoon was spent enjoying an almost empty BWI pool. We both enjoyed the water slide. It feels like it goes on forever! That slide was a whole lot of fun! By the time we got out of the water, we were both starting to resemble raisins.

Up next: A surprise that was surprisingly fun!

Yummy looking food. Don would be in total heaven with those danish things. I swear he and Mike and Tim have contests on the cruises to see who can eat the most. Austin wanted to pack up a suitcase full to bring home. They will all be your son and you can take turns taking them. Of course since Don and Mike are over 60 people might look at you a little strangely. They would love you forever tho.

My favorite park coming up. I'm anxious to see what Goof wants to do first.
Food eating contests...oh my! I think those could get very dangerous for one's hips and thighs! Ha ha ha.

I know you have a lot of pull with the Disney people, but to get an empty park. You rock. Some crowds are fun tho, especially when people watching but to be able to ride what you want and as many times as you want. Way To Go. That had to be such fun. I'm like you I love Adventureland. The way they have gone from one ride to another. Like I know, get ready for it.......................

It's coming................................................

Are you ready?

It's a Whole New World.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Ginny
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Oh Ginny, you do make me laugh!

That had to be a dream come true to practically have a park to yourself. You picked the best time of year to go down there!
It was wonderful to have our pick of rides/activities with almost no waiting involved. I actually have had dreams of an empty park...this day almost brought it to life!

WOW....that was an empty park Jay, kinda eery in a way. :confused3 LOL. How neat that you were able to get in all those rides in such a short amount of time though!!!!
It was eerie in a great way. I loved the freedom it gave us to simply do whatever we wanted to do without having to stick to any sort of a plan at all (like hurry over to Splash Mountain before the rest of the crowds)!

That's a very nice breakfast spread at BWI!!!

I cannot believe how empty the park was! I've seen low crowds, but wow, that was impressive!
The breakfast offerings were perfect for us, neither of us is much of a 'big breakfast' person so what they had out fit the bill for us just perfectly!

Jay, you are making me blush!

Jaime
Blush away. :cutie: ;)

So, what's for lunch????
It was wonderful! And Donald did look oh so adorable all dressed up in his frontier finest!

Glad you were able to save Goofy from those crazy stepsisters! :scared:

I really can't get over how empty the park was - nor can I get over the fact that you rode the teacups two times in a row!! :rotfl:
Ha ha ha. Lucky for me, spinning doesn't bother me a bit. I loved being able to just stay seated in our tea cup! ;)

WOW!!!! Talk about EMPTY! That's so awesome!!
:thumbsup2 We really enjoyed it!

OMG sooo empty! I would love that![/QUOTE We did love it! It was so nice to be able to stop and take pictures without having to wait for others to get done first, walk past or move out of the way.

I kept thinking we were going to find the 'hiding crowds' but never did.

i can't believe how empty it was!!! hope it's like that for us!
I have my fingers crossed for you! Not long at all now! I bet you are so excited!

Wow!! I've never seen the parks that empty. It's amazing!!

I was so disappointed not to get to meet the stepsisters this time. That's a wish for a future trip for sure. Maybe when my son gets a little older, they'll be more interested in us! :rotfl:
I am sure they would try to marry your son at any age. :rotfl: They were so funny and really did make our day a lot more fun.

Lovely pictures!
You don't need me, you need Tour Guide Mike. I LOVE HIM! Okay, not so much him as his website...but I do love it. Dh makes fun of me. I only let us go to the parks that Mike has given his stamp of approval on any given day. :lmao: Seriously, his site was not the easiest to figure out the first time I used it (many trips ago now) but it was and still is hugely helpful for me in figuring out where to go when. The ratings and days of the week change for each park from year to year, even from month to month and week to week. That's why I keep renewing my membership with his site, it's not like I can go with it one year and then follow the same advice the next. We were there on 9/9 on the day in the pictures.

Do they not do Spectromagic every day? Or did that change? We are probably going next week and I was wondering so that we could make sure to be there on the days they do it.
They weren't doing Spectro every day while we were there in September. We missed out on it (by choice, I knew in advance it was a trade off between a slower day of the week and being able to stay and catch Spectro).
Wow Jay MK looks just like it did during Hurricane Faye but without the wind and rain :rotfl: How fantastic to have the park so empty and do everything you wanted too!!!
Ha, I am oh so glad it was without the rain. We were very lucky most of the week and missed out on even the normal (for that time of year) afternoon showers on most days.

I have seen Disneyland that empty but not WDW. That's pretty cool!
I have never been to Disneyland. I really need to rectify that! ;)

Wow, how great to have the whole park almost to yourselves. I bet Goof was very excited. Being at WDW on your Birthday is awesome, but being at WDW on your birthday with little to no crowds is even better.:cool1: I am so happy for you guys!
It was quite a treat for both of us! :cloud9:

I think Spectromagic in November is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. You had better check to make sure, though.:) It is really neat and worth seeing.
Have a great trip!
It is so neat. I am hoping Aladdin will be interested in seeing it while we are there next month.

Wow LTT looks so good! I thougth it was always the thanksgiving meal they serve at dinner.....the pot roast looks yummy!

Jay: Liberty Tree looks SO yummy! It's breakfast-time here, but I could seriously go for some of that roast and mashed pototoes right now! Two of my favorite things. Mmmm!

I can't believe how uncrowded (is that even a word) the Magic Kingdom was. It looked like you had the place virtually to yourselves. What I wouldn't give for a day like that when we go to the Magic Kingdom!

We've never eaten lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern but I think your pictures have convinced me to give it a try.

I loved this update. That last pic of Goof is all but his dad's spittin image. We ate at LTT the very first time we at Disney (1974). We loved it. My girls were very small. I had the pot roast then and it looked the exact same. It's nice to know some things don't change. And I look at your pix and it so takes me back. Thank you for that.

On a side note. I got my scan and blood work back yesterday and I am now one year cancer free. Makes my feel quite blessed. I thought it deserved a trip to the World but Don is not being very cooperative.

Have a great day.

Ginny
