Goofy's Candy Co.

Do they still have the make your own rice crispy treats and marshmallows? Also are they still snack credits on the DDP?
TIA!

We were there in December and they still had both and yes you could make your own and use your snack credit to pay for it.

They are sooooooooooooooo good. We are actually thinking about getting the giant rice crispy treat that's $50.00. My daughter has been bugging for that for the past few months.

It over the last week or two has changed. RK is not a ddp snack credit anymore. And the pretzel rods are only with chocolate only. No toppings on any pretzels for DDP.

Also, no mixing of more than one topping, unless you want to pay $1 extra per extra topping.

I'm not on DDP and will be paying oop anyway, I still feel bad and this is my first time going in September. I was going to DTD JUST for goofys. :sad2:

well that's not nice!!!!

The Mickey head Rice Krispy treat is no longer a snack credit? Please someone confirm or deny this that has been there in the past couple weeks... What happened?:confused3
If you can't tell this rice crispy treat is very important to me which on so many levels is silly. But this is what I brought home for all my nephews and niece and they are already asking about it for our trip in Sept.

We weren't on the DDP so I can't confirm or deny anything about that.

However, we were there last week and I stopped in Goofy's Candy Company twice during our stay for a treat. For the chocolate covered marshmallows, they let the kids have as many toppings as they wanted for the same price of $2.25. One of my kids had M&M's, Reese's, Chocolate drizzle and sprinkles. The guy in front of me had one of every available topping and they didn't charge him extra either. The CM who made his RK treat spent a good ten minutes making it.

I never saw anything about charging extra for more toppings, but again we weren't on the DDP and I like my RK Treat simple -- dipped in Dark Chocolate with a little white chocolate drizzle. The RK Treat was $3.00 plus tax.

I believe it started last Friday (give or take a day). RK treat is also up to $8.95 now.

Sorry, that's just crazy IMO

Something that annoys me is when you buy into a program (and people..free dining ain't really free) such as DDP and they get to change the rules willy nilly with no warning. Did the price of the RK treat increase to exceed the $4 rule or whatever it is? Or has it becomes so popular that they realized they could get more oop for it? I understand making money and this really is such a tiny thing but I'm REALLY annoyed. Why change it now when you they are so close to the 2010 plan anyway? If Disney wants to make changes like this there should be a better way to go about it. If they changed it a couple days ago what makes the super early free dining people's money more important than my money? I know I am ranting and venting about a stupid mouse head on a stick but it is kind of the principle of the thing. I understand they are within their rights to change the program however they see fit but it would be nice that when you hand your money over you know what you're buying. I would have been annoyed had it been dropped for the 2010 DDP but it would have been a decent a logical place to have made the change.
I am going to shut up now as I am annoying myself over a tirade over some puffed rice.

I am sorry to report that the Mickey head rice krispy treat no longer counts as a snack credit. We were at Goofy's Candy Co. on Aug. 14th and were able to get this as a snack credit on the DDP, but when we went back on Aug. 16th we were told that the Mickey head rice krispy treat no longer qualified as a snack credit. The woman at the counter said that it had just changed that day and you were only able to get the prepackaged Mickey rice krispy treats with the chocolate dipped ears as a snack credit now. She also said that Disney had raised the prices on several items in the candy store as of the 16th. I do know for sure that you can still have the marshmallows dipped in your choice of chocolate with your choice of one topping as a snack credit. Caramel was no longer offered as a choice for a drizzle topping either. Needless to say, everyone in our family, including the adults, were extremely disappointed.

I bought my last one from Goofy's at DTD last Thursday night for $3.00. So it went from $3.00 to $8.95 overnight AND they charge extra for more toppings?

I did purchase a "normal" one on MainStreet for $3.25 on Sunday. I thought about buying one of the big ones o take home. It was either completely uncovered for $9.95, ears dipped in chocolate for $12 or completely covered in chocolate for $14.95 but I was worried about the chocolate melting and didn't do it. It had to be at least 4 or 5 times bigger than the standard version. I saw them hand making them at the Candy Store on Main Street.

I love your enthusiasm for puffed rice here! Funny!!

Uhm, 9 bucks for rice crispies and marshmallow fluff? Wow.

I hope this is not a sign of things to come... we have a trip in Sept for MNSSH and one in Dec. for MVMCP. Will I cancel over the Mickey RK treat? Of course not but this is going to make me very aware of things like this and will factor in to any future visits. Like I said before... I totally get maximizing profits. I am a Disney stockholder so I appreciate that on a lot of levels but that drastic of a price increase is just plain RUDE. :headache:
Jodi
who thinks she may lose some sleep over this stupid Mickey RK treat...errrr

I'm not too much a fan of rice krispies treats but I was disappointed in May when I went to Goofy's Candy Co. at DTD to get my bucket of popcorn with mini-marshmellow and drizzled with chocolate. This was something I only bought when we were in WDW and would love taking it home as a special treat!

I believe there is some confusion about which treat is $8.95. When I was at DTD July 4, my APPLE cost $8.95 (unlimited toppings), but everything else was under $6, most under $4.

So, can someone confirm that the custom made RK treats, pretzel sticks, marshmallows and cookies are still under $4.00 each as of this week? I was there last Thursday and the custom made treats were all under $4.00 with the exception of the apple which I thought was $5.95, but I could be wrong about that as I didn't order one myself. The only two prices I recall from memory are the marshmallows ($2.25) and the RK Treats ($3.00). It seems that some are reporting a price increase that corresponds with Free Dining to take these off of the free dining snack option.

Does anyone have the prices from this week?
