Well, another trip completed, and it's time for my first set of Dining Reviews.
For the restaurant rating, I will use a 10 point scale that is after the restaurant name.
I will be using a 10 point scale for the food, with 10 being the highest. The number after the food in the parenthesis is the food rating.
I will be using another 10 point scale with 10 being the highest, this time it will be the amount for the price paid which has it's own line.
Except for the first Wednesday and Friday, I ate a Cookie from either the BC Marketplace or the Main Street Bakery or that bakery near Kilimanjaro Safaris for the day we were at AK, so you won't see many breakfast reviews from me.
Enjoy!
VFPP=Volume for Price Paid (Amount of food you get compared to the price)
10 is a great value, 0 is a terrible value
Trip Schedule: Wednesday July 23rd to Wednesday July 30th
Chocolate Chip Cookie(10)
Comment: Great!
VFPP: 10
Sugar Cookie(10)
Comment: Great!
VFPP: 10
Wednesday July 23rd:
Breakfast: Au Bon Pain (Pittsburgh International Airport), 10
Food: Cinnamon Scone (8)
Comments: The best food you can get at an airport for breakfast.
VFPP: 10
Lunch: Beaches and Cream (Beach Club), 10
Food: Cheeseburger(10)
Fries(10)
Chocolate Milkshake(9)
Waitress: Unknown, but she has been there for a long time. Attentive and came often for drink refills.
Comments: Disney has cut back way too much. Last year, they had great pickles, and I don't even like them too much. This year, there were none. Also, they need to expand that restaurant.
The Cheeseburger and Fries were amazing. I expected more from the Shake, but it still was very good.
VFPP: 10
Dinner: Liberty Inn (World Showcase, America), 10
Food: Chicken Nuggets(10)
Fries(10)
Comments: Again, Disney cut back. This time, they cut up the chicken fingers to make it look like you were getting more, but you really got less. They bumped up the prices too.
VFPP: 5
Thursday, July 24th:
Lunch: Lottawatta Lounge (BB), 8
Food: Fish (2)
Fries(10)
Comments: Yes, you did get a lot, but the fish was terrible. The only reason that the rating is 4 is because of the fries. The fish had a yellow hue to it and was extremely greasy. The fish at Yorkshire County is way better. I gave the restaurant an 8 because I tried some of my family's food, and it was good.
Dinner: Biergarten (Germany), 10
Food: Pork Schnitzel (8)
Roasted Potatoes (6)
Pretzel Bread (10)
Black Forest Cake (8)
Waiter: An ambassador from Germany, had a terrible stench of beer on his breath, did not come too often to pick up plates.
Comments: As a buffet, the VFPP will vary depending on how much you ate. I did eat $26 worth of food, so it is rated a 10 for me. I ate a lot more than what I put under food, but I chose to only review those 4. I was upset that they didn't have Chicken Schnitzel, but I still liked the Pork. The Roasted Potatoes kinda made my stomach queezy, and the Rosemary overpowered the potatoes. You can never eat enough pretzel bread because it is so good. And the Black Forest Cake is excellent, but it is so sweet that you can only eat a few bites. The show was great, very professional.
VFPP: 10, but see above
Friday, July 25th
Brunch: Captain's Grille (Formerly Yacht Club Galley), 10
Food: Mickey Waffle with butter and syrup (10)
Sausage (8)
Waiter: Someone from Texas, unknown name, very attentive and nice.
Comments: The waffle was AMAZING. I kinda felt bad eating Mickey though. The waffle is about 1.5 inches thick, and is definitely worth $8. Then, the sausage throws in even more value. It is very good, but has a bit of spiciness to it.
VFPP: 10
Dinner: Backlot Express (DHS), 10
Food: Hot Dog (10)
Fries (10)
Comments: Nothing beats a good Disney 100% Beef Dog with Ketchup.
VFPP: 10
Saturday, July 26th
Lunch: Tony's Town Square, 10
Food: Baked Ziti (10)
A piece of Bianca's Flatbread (10)
Ice Cream Bomb (10)
A forkful of Chef's Signature Cheesecake (9)
I know, my mouth is watering viewing these pictures too
Waiter: Unknown name, but from Iran. He was very nice and attentive. He overheard my cousin's name and called him by name the whole lunch.
Comments: Everything was cooked to perfection. The Cheesecake was so creamy, and it was neat how they had the image of Lady and the Tramp on the plate in chocolate. The Bomb was excellent, and the cake complimented the chocolate covered ice cream very well. I was surprised when I received a lasagna looking block. It was ziti, however, and it tasted great. The 5 cheese flatbread pizza was great.
VFPP: 9
Dinner: Unknown, do not remember
Sunday, July 27th
Lunch: Rainforest Cafe (AK), 10
Food: Chicken Fried Chicken and Country Gravy(10)
Skin In Mashed Potatoes and Country Gravy(10)
A Forkful of Planet Earth Pasta with Chicken(10)
Waitress: Unknown, checked back often and brought drink refills
Comments: All of the food was excellent, especially my chicken. The only problem was the price
. Very expensive.
VFPP: 3
Dinner: Food Quest (DQ), 2
Food: Pizza (4)
Cuban Sandwich (I didn't eat any, but my Grandma told me that it was terrible)(2)
Comments: Wow, I knew that they took out the Cheesecake Factory, but I didn't know they changed the food. That pizza two years ago was not the same as CF pizza. But, Disney completely changed the menu and made it just a normal Disney CS Restaurant. The Pizza was terrible, nothing like Pizza Planet. The Cuban Sandwich, which I did not try, was horrendous. It was extremely small (about a quarter inch thick) and about $8. I was terribly disappointed.
VFPP: 2
Monday, July 28th
Lunch: Leaning Palms (TL), 10
Food: Fried Chicken Sandwich (10)
Fries (10)
My cousin had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza (10)
Comments: Wow, I can't believe that Disney only serves the fried chicken sandwiches at LP. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I highly suggest getting them. My cousin really liked the pizza too. The sandwiches were so big too! Definitely worth $8
VFPP: 10
Dinner: Chef Mickey's (Contemporary), 10
Food: Parmesan Mashed Potatoes (10)
Prime Rib au jus (4)
Honey Marinated Roasted Chicken (10)
Chicken Nuggets (10)
Ice Cream (10)
Mickey Raviolis (10)
Turkey (10)
Waiter: Dan from Orlando
Comments: As a buffet, the VFPP will vary depending on how much you ate. I did eat $26 worth of food, so it is rated a 10 for me. I ate a lot more than what I put under food, but I chose to only review those 7. Dan was very attentive and checked back often for drinks and to pick up plates. He asked for my name at the beginning of the meal because I was "leading" and called me by name the whole meal. All the food was excellent, except for the Prime Rib, which was EXTREMELY fatty. I love the potatoes, but don't get brown gravy on them, it ruins the great taste.
VFPP: 10
Tuesday, July 29th
Lunch: That Baked Potato Cart in Liberty Square (Magic Kingdom), 10
Food: Baked Potato with Butter and Cheese (10)
Comments: Excellent potato, definitely a change from normal CS.
VFPP: 10
Dinner: Cape May Cafe (Beach Club), 10
Food: Marinated Roasted Chicken (10)
Turkey (10)
Roasted Redskin Potatoes (2, see below for why)
Redskin Mashed Potatoes (10)
Cheese Pizza (6)
Chocolate Cake (10)
Cupcake (10)
Waitress: Unknown, but forgot my aunt's drink twice!
Comments: As a buffet, the VFPP will vary depending on how much you ate. I did eat $26 worth of food, so it is rated a 10 for me. I ate a lot more than what I put under food, but I chose to only review those 7. The Roasted Redskin Potatoes were not done as much as I would like, and I just didn't like them too much. They also gave me a stomach ache. The other family members would give them a 10 though. The cheese pizza was on whole wheat, which Goofy does not like. It would have been better had it been on normal dough. The Chocolate Cake is so moist and the icing creamy. I just loved this buffet and would definately go back, even though I don't eat Salmon, Clams, Mussels, and Shrimp.
VFPP: 10
Wednesday, July 30th
Lunch: Electric Umbrella (EPCOT), 10
Food: Chicken Nuggets, split (10)
Fries, split (10)
Comments: I only ate a half order because I was eating a churro later. Again, Disney cut back. This time, they cut up the chicken fingers to make it look like you were getting more, but you really got less. They bumped up the prices too. The chicken is very good though.
VFPP: 5
Lunch: Cantina de San Angel (Mexico), 10
Food: Churro (10)
Comments: Mmm, fried dough coated in cinnamon sugar goodness. You can't beat a good churro.
VFPP: 10
Dinner: Sparro Pizza (MCO Airport), 5
Food: Pepperoni Pizza (5)
Comments: Just not the same as WDW food
. You get a huge slice though.
VFPP: 10
Well, that's all! Hope you enjoyed reading my Dining Reviews.
