Do they still goof around with you at 50's Prime Time?

We went as kids and it was such a highlight of our trip - making us wash our hands and checking under our meat to make sure we ate our vegetables. I went back with my family a few years ago and they didn't do anything. It was fine at the time because my husband hates that sort of thing, so I'm not sure if they caught on to his vibe or they just didn't do it.

I'm taking my mom back for her birthday and she really wants to eat there. I'm just hoping it won't be a disappointment for her.

Honestly, the past couple of times I was there, there was no antics at all. Maybe its just rotten luck, because the server in the next section was playing the part. And boy was she funny! I was bummed out. There have been a lot of reports of servers at 50's not doing the antics. When you arrive, i would tell the hostess you want a server that will play along. Thats the best way to ensure you have some fun with the server.

Let me tell you, on my first trip with my DS we went to 50's and had an awesome server. She scolded me constantly (which my DS found funny), and she spoon fed my son his green beans. haha! It was a blast. I wish all of my servers were like that.

We had antics in February. Spoon fed my mother-in-law, was generally charismatic, and left my nephew alone when he clearly showed that he was not up for the antics.

We loved it, and will gladly go back if it makes sense on our next trip.

Our only gripe is that we were seated about 30 minutes after our scheduled time, which honestly was the first time it happened to us at WDW.

When we went we had a server that we watched play it up with others, but we got no antics (and not even the most attentive service). It wasn't a huge deal, but it did kind of ruin the magic to see her do it with others. I guess my family doesn't give off a fun vibe

Our server in June asked me quietly if it was OK to ham it up. Every server around us was doing it and it made for a very fun meal. At a table near us there was a boy and they were celebrating his 13th birthday. The waiter brought a girl over from of his other tables and said this is a girl. Very soon they will own you, everyone laughed including the boy. It was just light hearted fun. At our table they told my daughter that she got no desert unless she ate her veggies. Remembering how they spoon fed her on her 12th birthday made her decide to eat them.

I have asked the hostess to seat based on my party before - both requesting a lot of HAMMING and none. I like the fun of it but I have some friends that really do not. They have always done a good job of matching us up with a waiter that worked for us.

Last time we were in a NO ham group - but they got a kick of watching the waiter that had the adjoining tables really go at it! So they still do it - just depends on the waiter how much.

As others have said, when checking in tell the hostess you would "like to play." But be warned, we have specifically asked for a fun waiter/waitress and were still disappointed in the lack of interaction. I tend to think it has a lot to do with the time of the reservation and his/her availability. If it is during peak hours, then we have had several overworked servers who just do not have time to interact with anyone. However, our late night dinner reservations always tend to be hoot!
