Saw I had no idea what a Zip-Zap was and went and bought John-Cole the wrong thing...duh.....I should have at least looked up a picture. Of course now Radio Shack has run out of them and I have to try ebay......where they are at least twice as much. What we won't do for our kids huh.

mom2boys, a Zip-zap is THE brand to get. They are put out by Radio Shack and are not those that we all get 100's of spam on. The real zip-zaps are hard to get. I lucked into one at one of our local Radio Shacks, and got the wall barriers and a couple of the accessory kits too. Ebay is selling them for twice the cost at least. Good luck Beauty!

Yep I get hourly spam on the "non" brand name models too......he wants the real thing. I just showed him what I had bought and asked him if he would rather have those or would he rather me take them back and get him something else....non ZipZap.....and he said to get him another Playstation 2 game. I refuse to spend that money on ZipZaps when after Christmas they will be everywhere. We bought a similar one from Wal-mart and it worked all of 2 days before he broke it trying to drive it down the stairs.

If you have the time and patience you can try calling Radio Shack frequently. Most of them get their Zip Zaps on Monday afternoons. It only took me a couple of weeks of calling to get 2 from 2 different stores.

Be patient & find a small radio shack store
if you ask to be put on their product finder list they have to put ou on it
they will call you when they have one it stock
at a small store the list will hopefully be short
I got two (one for DH & one for DD) they do have two different frequencies
Also got the cones, carrying case, fast & furious upgrade with faster engine & shells, cleaning kit, and got the wild thornberries shells for the cars.
The thornberries are so cute (they also have a spongebob & patrick set also)
all in all I spent almost $100 - oyyyy I didn't mean to spend this much

I told our friends (a.k.a. the kids adopted grandparents) about zip-zaps when I first heard about them on the DIS. They went to Radio Shack that day and bought about $180.00 worth. DS is getting two along with the accessories. They also bought them for their two grandsons and a few extra.

I am so glad I heard about these here because DS has since seen the commercials and he really, really wants one. He is twelve and it is hard to find things besides video games that get him excited.
