Does anyone have any interest in setting up a goodie bag exchange for Disney World trip?

I LOVE doing the Fish Extender for my cruise, but prolly won't be cruising again for a while.

If you are intersted getting together with other Disney Lovers!!! Passing goodie bags, getting suprizes!!! The more people, the more likely we can get groups to 1-2 resorts, and dates, and hopefully the front desk will help out, as room #s are not as easy with resorts verses cruises.

If interested I started a FB group, please join and post dates you are traveling and try and match up :)

We ideally would love 2 more people Spring break week, if anyone is interested. We have a # of other weeks started as well. Aug/Sept, Thanksgiving, Christmas-NY, but would love with close dates, to close out April Aprox 23-29th <3

If anyone is interested, post on here, if you don't have FB, or don't want a group on there, or join FB group and add dates. Thanks.

:thumbsup2

Update, this is just like a fish extender, you make goodie bags for other Disney lovers, and you get them in return. We have April closed now, but a few others have opened. Please join in interested :)

We have a few new group started in

Sept 23 -30 a 2nd in Sep with unsure dates

Oct 18 - 26

Dec 3-13

12/28 -01/03

So people would have to travel to any one of the resorts to find a room (assuming they even have been given a room number which the hotel probably will not give them) to leave a stranger a present? So if I'm staying at beech club I could have to take two buses to get to pop to find a room among the hundreds there, and then hop two buses back to my resort. Unlike cruises this can take several hours out of my day.

Sounds like too much of a hassle during vacation. FP+ is enough of a headache to handle. I'm not driving all over Disney property to act like Santa stuffing stockings. It's a cute idea and probably works well on a cruise ship where cabins are preassigned and people can tell one another about their location in advance, but at a huge resort destination like WDW, it's just impractical.

Not to mention that on a cruise ship, the participants all arrive and depart on the same days. That makes it easier for participants to make sure that they can deliver their "goodie bags" to each other. What happens when A arrives first and then leaves on the day that B blows into town? Does A really want to spend their last day tracking down B so that they can exchange a bunch of dollar store stuff?

PS - Please consider editing your personal FB privacy settings. Your information is way too public, Dana! Not everyone on the internet is a nice person.

Not only that, chances of the person actually getting it, meaning someone stealing it, is a big risk to take two buses and spend over an hour or more to deliver the gift. Not to mention you are publicly listing your room number on social media sounds scary even though its limited to those who join the group, you don't know these people.

BTW the title of your FB page is misspelled.

Okay, so I suspect all the details haven't been worked out; however I believe luggage services will transport anything for you to another resort. Additionally if enough people sign up for a group it could certainly be localized for a specific resort.

I realize dates won't line up perfect, but and I have 1 set for April, where I am meeting 1 person at a park, doing a illumin together, and 1 drop off which I intend to either do through luggage/bell services or where we intend to have dinner.. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, and it is okay if it works for 1 and not someone else.

It is 1000% optional, and sounds like fun to me.. but it is okay if it is not for you too.

You would actually expect luggage services to transport a bunch of goodie bags to various resorts on your exchange list? To be delivered to a guest other than yourself? How much are you willing to tip them to do this? Those guys work for the tips, you know.

I'm willing to try this. Sounds fun! It's not everyone's thing, but if it's not something you're interested in, no point in arguing. :-) We'll report back how it works.

Why not just do a DIS-meet and exchange goodie bags there? My husband would never agree to a Disney vacation again if I suggested we waste valuable vacation time delivering bags to strangers at other resorts.

That's a good idea too. I think if you look at the fb page at least for who will be there when I will that was sort of what I was leading to. It's always fun to meet new friends. :-)

10000% Rules for delivery would be up to the people in the share.. just like with FE! With the FP+ system this could be used at a parade FP, or even a dessert party meet! I would think those are 1000000% viable options <3 We are meeting 1 of our groupies at illumi FP+ and sharing! (I have glow bracelets in it too!)

Set up your limits and see if you can find another or 2 or 4 families with the same goals! And have if interested have fun making goodies!

Luggage services isn't a mail delivery service. It's presumptuous to assume they would be willing to deliver your packages for you that have nothing to do with luggage. Also they don't deliver to rooms when they do a luggage transfer say for a split stay.

:thumbsup2 I will find out around 25th of the month. not sure presumptuous, as I already planned to have dinner at the other resort if it doesn't work out.
You are very possibly correct! They may look down on it, or they may be okay with bringing some happiness to another resort too.. esp for a tip.

It also may work out just to meet up at a park/show/dessert party/ too.. I am so sorry but this sounds fun to me! I HAD SOOO MUCH fun making goodies for my Disney cruise, and cannot imagine affording 1 again for years.

There is certainly no high pressure to drive to 4 different resorts on a 8 day trip..
and it would be okay if you have 1 person in your resort, met 2 at a dinner show, and dropped 1 off at a place you had dinner. IE you are going to FW, and have a ressie at MBBBQ..
It is just a fun idea to start.. and yup, I guess it might not work out. I am excited for my trip <3
Also if enough people join in, it is very possible it ends up at just 1-2 resorts.. IE BC/BW/Swan and POR/FQ/SSR or all the AS. You could certainly limit it to 3 people in a group too..

When we went back in 2006, we decorated the door and window of our Pop room, we also tied a pencil on the doorknob and used lime green mickey head paint chips (post it note size) taped to the door and a sign saying hello, asking people to write where they were from, with my disboards name and our hometown. We got so many nice notes, and met some friends that way. Even mousekeeping got into the action, putting a row of towel animals in the windows with a note that said "HI!"

This all sounds cute and fun but taping things to your doors and windows create a maintenance nightmare when it comes to removing the residues. Those things bake in the hot Florida sun and leave their hard-to-remove adhesive behind. If I'm not mistaken, Disney started charging people a clean up fee if they had to spend extra time and money to clean up the mess. I remember seeing threads about it on the Resorts Board a few years ago.

Please don't tape things to your doors and windows.
