*sigh* I got a call from my dd's teacher today. She was playing truth or dare with some boys at lunch and was dared to "rip" on another classmate. After some lies, and acting like she didnt care....got the real truth as to why this occured. It seems because she gets good grades and all the teachers like her, she is a being called a goodie 2 shoes. She decided to play with the bad kids to become cool.

Hmm after being grounded from tv, computer, and having to write 2 sheets of I will not lie. Hurting people is not cool. AND writing an apology to the boy (She has already said sorry to him)....she's realizing being a smart kid isnt such a bad thing after all.

She is my only child...and first time in trouble....And people thing it gets easier as the they get older :(

Oh btw...she's 10 and in 5th grade.

5th grade is a tuff year. My 5th grade DD is freaking out because Fri is

THE MOVIE for her they ahve been showing it all week. She said all the boys come out looking shell shocked.(my word not hers)

5th grade IS a very hard year. DD had more trouble fitting in an adjusting that year that ever before or afterwards.

It is hard sitting back and watching your kids do some really stupid things in order to be liked by a bunch of kids who are just troublemakers anyway. DD has several friends that I won't shed a tear over when she finally figures out what a bunch of losers that they are.. but I think all moms feel that way.

She just told me a few minutes ago she's shocked she is actually grounded. She misses her TV. She also said she didnt think she'd be grounded until she was 13 (a teenager) I had to hide my parental giggle and said it all depends on how old you are when you misbehave.

My mommy heart strings were pulled today when I had to ground her. The look on that lil face oh my. However I will not let her get away with this behavior. She knows it was wrong to make fun of another student. I dont believe in that "oh well kids will be kids" mentality.

awwww thanks! I always joke that she's the best birthday present I ever got. (conceived on my 21st birthday and I was told Id never have a child) She's the present that keeps on giving....sometimes joy sometimes grief...today...not so much joy. ahhha

well arent you just a bundle of good news :rotfl2: I hope we dont have another day like yesterday for a while. Im not foolish enough to say ever again.

Another Mom of a 5th grade dd :scared: It is a tough year. I find this year is the first year she is really feeling peer pressure. Thankfully my very good friend also has a dd in 5th grade(same school) so we stick together in our tough decisions-it's easier when you have an ally, yk? One of her good friends went on a date last week :confused3 The boy(who happens to be my nephew-but that's a whole 'nother thread, lol) took her to a restaraunt for dinner-the mom sat at a different table. 10 years old!!!! I told my dd 'don't even think about it until you're 14" Thankfully she's such a tomboy that she's not interested in that stuff....yet!!
