Goodbye Starring Rolls - We will miss you

My family and I always enjoyed stopping in at Starry Rolls after getting to DHS rope drop for the Toy Story Mania sprint. After the ride, we would get a cheese danish for an alternative breakfast. To us, it seemed to be a small corner of privacy and relaxation.

The strangest thing is when I talk with people about DHS I always made a point of telling people they need to go there for a mid day break and use up some snack credits. Friday a co-worker yelled over her cube wall that they were closing my favorite place to eat and I had to ask where. She said "Staring Rolls". So the perception is that it is my favorite place.

The strange thing if memory serves me I have only eaten there once!! Maybe twice, I just don't remember. Now I wish I had eaten there more.....

I just saw a tweet about it the day before they closed.

My sister & I ate there several times, but they were very specific about their closing time. We arrived at 3:56pm once and they turned us away. Another time we arrived at 4:01pm and they already had the doors locked.

I never got lunch, only the cupcakes, but that was before Starbucks opened.

Oh no! We loved having lunch there, and in particular the cupcakes! Will they be selling those cupcakes elsewhere in the park? I never saw the Butterfinger cupcake or some of the others anywhere else.

So Sad. This was one of our favorite places to use our CS credit in HS. Always a great sandwich and a great place to sit and people watch while you ate. It will be missed by us.

Happy the cupcakes will still be sold, but Starbucks is not exactly the little oasis that Starring Rolls was. Sigh .

I feel the pain, too. However, my so so sad loss was when they converted the FountainView Bakery at Epcot. They made everything fresh from scratch in that kitchen. My absolute fave was the cheese danish which was more like a pastry puff pillow stuffed with the cheese filling and dusted with powdered sugar. It was not too sweet, always perfect! On my last day I would always go and buy a dozen to take home (or whatever they had left)! Took a long time to get over since they were that good, and that unique! No where else in Disney (or anywhere else to date) have I found these cheese danish...

Goodbye favorite sweet treat in all of Disney World, the best little fruit tart on earth.

Bad timing, I guess, both times we tried there. Our rolls were dried out, wasn't planning to go again anyway.
