Goodbye Kong

I have just read that Kongfrontation will be no more after Sunday September 8th. It's last ride will be at 5.45.

So for all of you that are heading out before then it would be your last chance to say goodbye.

I know it was not the best ride in the park but it was still pretty good and the no que thing was always a bonus.

when do you think they will have the new ride up and running, is that Shrek 3d or Jimmy Nutron (or something like that).

Nothing has been announced about the new ride in the Kong building, other than the Universal boss saying that it would be as cutting edge as Spiderman is. Rumours (mainly Jim Hill) state that it will be an indoor coaster based around The Mummy franchise.

How sad to see it go. It was one of the first Orlando rides we ever went on and it has a feeling of nostalgia every time we ride it. Having said that, our DD aged 7 has absolutely no idea who King Kong is so maybe it is time for Kong to give up his pitch to something a bit more up to date.

That really is sad it had a grat atmosphere as you went round waiting to go in the car .Your correct it wasn't the best ride but I agree it had a nostalgia that most people remember from their first trip and I for one will miss

Kong was 'down' when we went last October, but we will be in time to catch it just before it closes this year.

It may not be the best ride, but I am still looking forward to it as something that we should experience before the chance is lost forever.
