:sad1:

You were a great show and ended far too soon. You will be sadly missed by your loyal viewers who outnumber those of other crappy shows which were renewed (ahemOne Tree Hill)

Thanks for the laughs and the tears.

I will miss Everwood. :sad1:

I am very glad they did the 2 hour finale, and that they gave every story line a good ending. It was a bit sappy, but wonderful.

Now we can imagine them all living happily ever after in the Colorado Rockies.

I liked the ending too. I'm glad everythng worked out well (except for Irv). I'm kind of surprised that Hannah chose A&M over Notre Dame though. I hope this new CW network realizes what a mistake they made cancelling Everwood cause it couldn't be "paired up" with another show. Here's my idea, pair it up with 7th Heaven again and call it the "Brought back from being cancelled" night!

:sad2: I will also miss this show...think that I sobbed most of the way through the end. Goodby will hate seeing you go. Shirley

I forget all about it... Was at my son's ball game.
Did Hannah and Bright get back together, Irv didn't die did he?

I've been watching the show since it first started. Always kept track of which night it was jumping to. I loved the ending. They did a great job of wrapping up loose ends, especially with Delia and the promise Andy made her four years ago. There were points in the night where it seemed like they may have even rewritten a line or two to take a jab at CW for not renewing it. And Andy's line about Ephram cutting his hair was great.
Am I the only one who thought that Hannah choosing A&M was a hint that maybe she was considering starting something with Bright again? I held it together until their last scene together. Bright has changed so much. The flashback last week of him and Irv was so true. He has probably made the biggest change out of all the characters.
I'm really going to miss this show. People were ready for 7th Heaven to end, were prepared for it and they had a whole year to get their act together to end it. This was out of the blue and in the long run, CW is going to realize that bringing back a show that ended with good ratings over a show that had a lot of story left with good ratings was a bad mistake.

Not only did you miss the finale, you obviously missed last week's episode too! Do you really want to know what happened?

I think Everwood really was the best written show on TV. I am so upset they canceled it.

Not just a teeny bop show. It was a good family show. I loved to watch the relationship between all the parents & the kids, and how they really grew.

Treat Williams was amazing in it. It is the best thing he has ever done.

It sucks that networks cancel these amazing, GOOD shows, yet leave crap on the air. Really how many reality tv shows do we need?

Why not leave just one show that is really good on?

I'm still in shock that tonight's episode was the Series Finale and not just the Season Finale :(

When I cued it up on TiVo and heard "Series Finale" I actually yelled "WHAT!?" Somehow I missed this. :sad2:

I've watched from the beginning and think it's one of the best shows out there. Great writing, acting, dealt with tough issues in a realistic and (for the most part) good way.

So not happy with the knuckleheads the at WB who thought it was a good idea to end the show

i wonder if they did the same thing 7th heaven did, and how the cw channel might pick it up ?

As of right now there are no plans for CW to pick it up. WB actually had nothing to do with it this time. CW made their schedule and when they decided to bring back 7th Heaven for whatever reason, Everwood got cancelled because they "wouldn't have the room for it." It was going to be on Mondays at 8pm, but they wanted 7th Heaven to have it's long-standing spot, and therefore had no room for Everwood anymore. I still don't get why they won't even bring it back in Jan. when the 13 episodes of 7th Heaven end. :confused3

I did see it last week, when it ended with Bright in the hospital with Hannah there and Irv putting the key to the motor home I assume on the try and then going down like it had a heart attack. So that is why I asked if he died.
Maybe someone could do a recap, hopefully they will replay it again.

Alright it was cancelled and I read a lot of opions and its not being picked back up.... so please someone who saw the ending, recap for thoes of us who missed it.

Whatever station you're watching is a week behind. Last week's episode was Irv's funeral. They did flashbacks of how Irv affected each character's life. This week was a neat little wrap up. Fairly predictable but made me happy that everything worked out in the end.

I, too, have been watching Everwood since the beginning. This is one of the best written shows on TV - I can't believe they're bringing back 7th Heaven instead of Everwood. I think 7th Heaven ended at the right time because the stories were not as good as they used to be. Everwood still had plenty of life left.

At least they tied things up nicely, I was mostly happy with the finale. :thumbsup2

Am I dumb, Son's baseball started last Monday so I must have
missed that too. Hope there are reruns....

Also last week, if you missed it Andy bought an engagement ring for Nina... just in case she changed her mind and he got the opportunity to ask her. It was a supposed to be a big secret but Ephram saw it and he went into confessional mode. It was a neat father - son moment.

Later in the show, Nina & Ephram were talking and E took it upon himself to enlighten Nina about Andy's feelings and his purchase... she was touched but continued with her plans to leave town with Jake, with a slight hesitancy raising inside.

Now for Pooh67 and others who missed it here's a recap of the two hour finale last night. I tried to make it short but there is so much that goes on and changes that it is long… sorry.
This is as I remember it… so if I get something messed up please feel free to correct. (Why I didn’t tape this I just don’t know… oh well, maybe DVD’s will come out!)

Nina was almost finished packing up the kitchen when Hannah showed up and as they talked Nina started rambling and out came all the information Ephram had given her about Andy -- including that he had bought a ring.

So Hannah goes into this giggly girl thing about have you seen it, how big is it and Nina is just ??? no, of course not. So Hannah somehow convinces her to sneak in to the Browns home and look for the ring just to take a peek.

Cut to N & H in Andy's bedroom... just as they spy the box they hear the door and Andy's voice calling for Delia! YIKES! What do they do! Nina hides, and H heads down the stairs with a story about looking for Sam’s sweatshirt. Andy is surprised but not upset and H makes her way out the door... realizing later that she had suck the ring inside the front of her shirt... instead of putting it back on Andy's dresser.

Of course when Andy goes up stairs he almost immediately notices it is missing and goes to search out Ephram to find out if he took it.

Of course later in the show Jake finds the ring at Nina's house... and an embarrassed Nina tries to explain... Jake is not happy and immediately heads to Andy’s for the confrontation. “Did you buy this for my girl” he grumbles. “How did YOU get that?” Andy replies! They then have the most calm Nina discussion of the entire series and it ends with Andy saying “Relax, she has obviously picked you.”

Ephram is getting along great with the new girl friend, Delia invites her to the Batmizpha and tells Andy there will be room for her since Jake, Nina & Sam won’t be there.

Cut to the airport Jake, a tentative but resigned Nina and a sleeping Sam waiting for what must be a delayed flight. Jake starts to talk with her about the whole Andy thing… she denies, he looks at her intensely and they cut away.

Dr Abbott sees the patient who had Schizophrenia and just had a baby... her husband was diagnosed with a terrible disease and apparently he has now died. She is very upset because her scizo meds aren't working right, she doesn't feel right, she cant' take care of the baby without her husband and she doesn't know what to do. He calms her, tells her all parents feel that way, she's been through a lot... just relax and go home.

Gramma is also very upset... tells Junior she's going to Africa to work with his sister. He tells her she's just upset, she shouldn't go. Then Dr.A calls his sis to ask for help talking her out of it and finds out Mom hasn't even told sis she is thinking about it. So he confronts Gram and she says of course she's upset, she just lost her husband and yes she lied but she wants to just take the motor home and go off by herself for a long time to get her head straight.

Cut to Amy & Hannah… Amy wants Hannah to tell her she doesn’t like Ephram. H almost physically jumps she is so surprised to hear it, but repeats the words and Amy with a far off expression says “that’s what I thought”.

Most of the characters are at Delia’s Batmizpha and she is beautiful and doing a wonderful job, everyone is proud and happy. There is somehow an entire full size carrousel inside the room! (Later it looks like several people – maybe everyone – takes home a small one.) Amy seems to be quite bothered by Ephram’s new and very attentive girlfriend.

Back to Nina & Jake at the airport; he says “you still love him don’t you?” She says “I chose you! I’m going with you! “ He goes into this long (somewhat un-Jake-like) speech about how anyone who is with him has to be 100% convinced and totally absolutely certain and just “choosing” him and still having some feelings for someone else just isn’t good enough. He won’t let her say anything – he is getting on the plane alone and he won’t even discuss it because if she wasn’t 100% convinced by now she never would be. He then leaves, no hug, no kiss, just goodbye and without even waking Sam. She just sits there with a shocked look on her face.

Back to the Batmizpha reception; the young adult table is Ephram and new girl, Amy, Bright and Hannah. New girl is all over Ephram and they go off to dance, as do Bright and Hannah. Amy is left alone with the Kosher wine… bad omen. She is really going at it big time.

Bright, who has gained both perspective and a good deal of intelligence since his fall, is talking with Hannah after the Batmizpha all about his plans for college and pursuing his major and how excited he is to make something of himself. (The guy must be a better actor than I ever gave him credit for – because suddenly Bright has a look of confident intelligence instead of that hazy eyed “I have no idea about life” look he has always had.)Hannah tells him she got a full ride to Notre Dame but she doesn’t know what to do. She has been thinking she would go to A&M and room with Amy but it’s Notre Dame… but if she goes there she might never come back to Everwood.

Hannah finds Amy drinking like crazy and not able to sit too well… and exchanges a glass of wine for a glass of water. She and Bright help Amy leave and the whole time Amy is mushing about E and the new girl and how dumb she was and on and on.

Andy & Delia come home from the Batmizpha and there is Nina sitting in their kitchen!! She sheepishly said she changed her mind and she didn’t know where else to go and can she stay for a few days until she figures things out. “Of course” Andy gushes! “Stay as long as you need to!” Sam runs in and wants to call Jake… awkward silence.

The Abbott family is having breakfast. Bright is asked to go get the paper… he opens the door and there is a baby in a car seat… on top is a note to “Dr Abbott”. “Mom, Dad you better come and see this” Bright yells! They bring in the baby… of course Rose immediately goes into super mom mode and Dr A reads the note. It is, of course, from the patient who “just couldn’t handle it”… you saw that coming didn’t you!!

Then Andy is preparing to leave town… Dr Abbott is incredulous! “You finally have a chance with the girl and you go on vacation!” Andy just smiles. Ephram shows up to take him to the airport. Dr A is going crazy not knowing but Andy will not say where he is off to.

Amy is dejected laying on her bed with a hopeless look on her face. Rose sees her and they talk all about how Amy knows now the Ephram is the one and how stupid she feels because she’s completely messed things up and now there’s no hope. Rose says, “There must be something you could do”. Amy thinks and suddenly says… “I think there is something, but I’ll need your help”

Andy is in the grave yard at Julia’s grave… he starts telling her how hard it was to lose her and how much he learned from her, before and after she died. Then he talks about the kids, how much they are like her, what a gift they are. Then he tells her all about Nina and how he’s in love with her and how he wants to make a life with her and he feels to do that right he has to say a final goodbye to Julia. Can you say tear jerker?!! I’m tearing up again just thinking about it!

Amy is having coffee with the new girl friend. “You know I’m all into Women’s Studies and ‘The Sisterhood’ and all and so I wanted to talk to you. She goes on to tell the girl she still loves Ephram and she has to tell him but she didn’t want there to be any bad feelings. The girl says no problem… as much to say I don’t think he’ll go back to you but do what you have to do.

Gram walks into the Abbott home… “helloooo??” “We’re upstairs, mother.” Comes from the stairs. She heads up and finds Dr & Rose in a bedroom. “Welcome to your new bedroom” They smile the huge ‘you just have to say yes, because it means so much to us’ smiles. She is quite surprised but before she can speak Rose goes on and on about how she’ll really need the help with the baby, especially since Amy will be living in the dorm next year and won’t she please say yes. She smiles and a bit uncharacteristically says “Okay”

Bright and Hannah are visiting she is trying to make her decision. They talk for a while, and then he tells her he really thinks she should go to Notre Dame, it’s the best thing for her and nothing else matters.

Now we’re at the Brown home Nina & the kids in the kitchen, Andy comes in she says do you want waffles or pancakes… he says come with me. He takes her by the hand out the front door and up the hill to the front yard of what was her home. He stops, puts his hands on her shoulders, looks into her eyes and says “This is where I first met you.” He then proceeds to tell her all that she has come to mean to him and how he wants to spend the rest of his life with her and then pulls out the ring box. “I guess you’ve seen this” She quickly replies “No, I didn’t look, I couldn’t” He then proposes with a simple. “I love you, will you marry me.” She says “Yes, I love you too.” They kiss…

Ephram is in his apt., he calls the new girl to say he’s late but on his way. As he runs out of the building he is surprised to see Amy and the Ferris Wheel from the local carnival. Some how the Ferris Wheel is all lit up and of course Amy is a bit tentative but she says “Please let me go first.” She starts by saying “I’m not sure if you remember about the Ferris Wheel but…” He interrupts to say “I remember”. She starts to talk again, telling Ephram everything about how wrong she’s been, how she now knows she really loves him and will always love him and that he is “The One” and is there any hope.

They cut to a wonderful montage of different clips from their relationship… sitting here and there, laughing together, the different places they went (only the good stuff).

Cut back to Ephram, you still can’t tell for sure what he will say –things have been going so well with the other girl – but suddenly he smiles and says “Amy I love you too, I feel just the same!” Then a kiss….

Then Hannah has a big envelope she is putting into a mailbox. As she is about to drop it you see that it says “Colorado, A & M University”. She mails it with a confident smile.

And they all live Happily Ever After in the Colorado mountain town of Everwood.

Great recap. Thanks. :thumbsup2
