If you have Delta Express tickets you'd better call them. I found out my flight no longer exists - the airline will no longer exist in the future. Better to check now than to find out at the last minute.

I have 2 tickets for Thanksgiving week from Providence, RI to MCO. I know they just changed the departure time on my return, but have NOT heard anything about not being in business...

What did you hear??

I'm flying Delta Express November 2nd Boston to Orlando and my flights are still there. Is Delta Express going away?

i am checking our flights now for november, please be there..... delta.com still has our flight listed, there is no mention of cancellations.

We have Delta Express Flights from Hartford, CT to MCO in December. As of 8:00 p.m. tonight Delta still has our flights and seat assignments listed. Although the flight number has been changed.

However, we were very surprised last Thursday when we flew home from MCO back to Hartford when we arrived at the Airport our flight number and seat assignments had been changed and the aircraft was changed to a 727 Regular Delta Aircraft, not a 737 Delta Express. I spoke with one of our flight attendents and asked her about the change and she had no firm answer. We also tried to upgrade to an empty First Class Seat after we boarded and we were told those seats were not available for purchase once we boarded. Eight First Class Seats remained empty for our flight home. Coach was filled.

We have been flying Delta Express from Hartford for the past several years. We give high marks for Delta Express. On time, and reasonable fares. We hope that this "rumor" is not true.

My daughter-in-law works for Delta out of Green airport in RI. She is on materninity leave right now, but says Delta Express still exists and is not going out of business. It is one of the more lucrative parts of Delta airlines!

First the CBR closing for rehab on me (not personally), then rumors of Delta Express.... I can't take much more going off kilter with my vacation...With my luck, it will probably snow in WDW while I'm there (real snow, not Osbourne snow! LOL!)

I guess I'll wait and see what happens.... I suppose if Delta Express isn't flying the day I need, they'll HAVE to put me on another flight??? After all, my whole vacation is paid in full right now!!

Maybe they won't cut PVD back?? I feel bad for all the people any cutbacks will affect, I know, I've been there.... we're all at the point of NOW what???

Bob, I had the same thing happen to me several years ago on a DL express flight. They did "upgrade" me to first class, but the only difference was the seat size. Since it was DL express no First Class drink service.

The flight leader told me that they can use the DL plane since the crews are qualified on it and have done it if there is some mechanical reason or a plane is out of service for scheduled maintenance.

This is not true.

Not to argue with you - but when I looked up my March flights my DE flights were now listed on a Chataqua (sp?) airline with only about 10 rows in the plane. I don't fly those little guys so I called DE and the customer service person (who was very nice) told me that they are no longer flying out of Indianapolis and she acted like all DE flights would be changing in the future. Just what she told me. I have already emailed Delta about this matter. She said there will be alot of changes after Dec 1.

Delta Express is still flying. They have however reduced service in some markets and switched to Comair or other Delta partners in others. The regional jets are quite nice with no middle seats. Also because they hold fewer people, boarding and de-planing is quicker and there is not as much luggage to search through on the carousel.

I don't understand why people get so upset when their flight number changes.

There is no First Class on Delta Express. Delta's policy does not allow upgrading once on board - probably because the flight attendents do not have a way to process the upgrade payment or Skymiles segment upgrade.

Delta Express may still be flying in some cities but it is shutting down in others, definitely including at least Columbus and Indianapolis. "Replacing" Delta Express 737s with Embraer aircraft flown by an airline you've never heard of before is more than just a change of flight number.

Until or unless Delta makes a public statement about their plans for Delta Express, it is reasonable for all Delta Express customers to worry about their flights and look for other alternatives.

(Actually our flight number didn't change, but that was the only thing that didn't. I kind of like Canadian Regional Jets but that's not what we got. From Columbus the Embraers are being flown over 800 miles when the listed range is 1100 miles. No thank you.)

What's not true, that it won't snow in WDW while I'm there?? LOL!!
I have the worse luck.. murphy's law was written just for me!!! LOL!!

DL Express pulled out of Nashville right after 9/11. We now have Comair flying the Candaair jets to Orlando. Fairly good replacement.

If they pulled out and replaced the flights with "smaller" planes, than that is probably what they think the market will support.

DL Express will probably survive in some format. Delta is paying a consultant firm LOTS of money to figure out what to do about the "Low Cost" airline.

My personal theory is that as a result of the condition of the airlines right now, lots more smaller cities will be losing some jet service.

It is not just Delta, I flew to CA on American Sunday. ALL of my flights had number changes and time changes between booking at the end of July and the day I showed up at the airport. (And no American never notified me!)

well, my flight # hasn't changed, and if it does, oh well... my departure & arrival time coming home has changed, again not a big deal...

I just want to make sure there's a PLANE for us... doesn't matter what time, but it does matter what day, although I wouldn't mind staying one more day in WDW!! LOL, but work awaits me on Monday morning bright & early!!

We are flying out of Boston on Oct. 26 and so far that hasn't changed but they did change our flight leaving MCO to an hour and a half later. Which is no big deal, they called and left us a message. When I made our ressies last March I was very specific because son is autistic. I happen to call this am to make sure there were no more changes and so far there arent. Delta Express is huge here at Logan.

The service out of Syracuse NY is also Commair. The plane (50 seat jet) was very nice and the service was great.
