I have flat feet and would like to find some good sneakers/tennis shoes.
I have Nike Shoxx right now and I really like them, but I am wondering if there is something out there that still looks good but will be good for my feet too! I say that because I'm 27 years old and don't really want to wear orthopedic shoes!! :rotfl: KWIM??? Walking at Disney in September made my non-arches feel like someone was cutting them with a knife!!!

I'm overweight and I know that does not help the problem, but I am working on that!!!

I have archless feet that are extra long as well. (11). I find that any of the New Balance atheletic shoes work grat for me. I also wear a lot of Dansko and Born shoes for work. Kind of orthopedic looking, but kinda cute too. I need the square shoe box since my feet spread so with their flatness when I put weight on them!!

Before Christmas I pushed my 205lb dad all over DL and DCA in a wheelchair while wearing NB....and no discomfort!! Good luck!!

My podiatrist recommended Brooks Ariel. It is listed as being good for flat feet and for heavier frames.

I like them pretty well but I also like Sacony, don't remember the style.

Have a pair of orthotics made for your feet. My husband has flat feet and ever since he had a pair made he never complains anymore.

I have arch supports that were made for me, I can put them in almost all shoes. That was the best way to go for me.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm hoping with weight loss and a good shoe, I'm going to feel so much better!!!

I have flat big feet (11) plus plantar faciatis (painful heels) and I just found Nike Shox. I LOVE them. They are as comfy as my ugly Crocs but cute:rotfl:

I love my Shox!!! I may buy another pair, but I want to try on several different kinds before I decide and I posted this because I wanted to know
what kinds I should try on!!

I remember telling some people when I first got my Shox that they were the most comfortable shoes I had ever bought. I've had them for quite a while, so I'm thinking that they are just worn out!!!!

I just really feel that all this weight is a lot of the problem! I need to lose about 140 pounds!

My hubby has big, huge flat feet (duck feet!) and he LOVES his Doc Martens. They're awfully heavy, though.

I call mine "Minnie" feet! :rotfl:
I have flat and very wide feet.

I wear Crocs to WDW. I do bring 2 pair and change them out every day.
I also find I benefit from getting new pairs for extensive walking (like at WDW), so I don't like them to be any older than, say, 6 months. I can wear the older ones on shopping trips of 5 or 6 hrs & it's fine, but not for 10 hrs+ of WDW walking & standing.

As others have said, get good arch supports. :)

I had a pair specially made for me that I hated, Then a world record breaking runner personally recommended these to me that I wear all the time. They are so springy, cushioning & comfortable. I have one pair in my sneakers & one pair in my work shoes.

Lynco orthotic arch supports :yay:

I have flat feet too and tried the orthotics, but hated them. I just make sure to buy good shoes with good and spongy arches that give. You definitely can't get away with the totally flat shoes without any support, your feet hurt even more. SOme times when I get the cramps in my foot where arches should be i need a good foot massage to get the the cramp out. I wore all of the "special" shoes as a child that my parents paid good money for and they did nothing. Hope you have found shoes that work for you. I like New Balance and also have a pair of Columbia sneakers and they work well too.

I just got these for other reasons, but highly reccomend them!!
Go to the "Good Feet" store near you, they are great!

That could work for some people, but you really should get a doctor's opinion.
Shoes sold anywhere with "good" arch suppot are made for anyone. Custom's are made for you and will work with your feet not everyone else's.

I've had orthotics since I was 15. I mostly wear tennis shoes. For me, I had to do that because my flat feet were starting to cause me knee and back problems.

All I can say is that I know what it's like to have problems finding shoes. Good Luck!!

I have that too. And the only shoes that really kill my feet are my work shoes. Not much help there as they're special no slide shoes designed for wearing in restaurants. But my Nike Air shoes seemed to have developed a "flat" year before last because they killed the feet. Crocs would've been great, save for the blister I got at the base of my big toe and then hit it while getting off the bus at DW. :scared:
