good place for an anniversary dinner?

I personally love the Napa Rose at California adventure hotel! the food is really good and for a special treat my husband and I do the Chef's dinner...where you sit at the counter in front of the kitchen, the Chef's chat with you and you get personalized meals! it's really a great way to celebrate a special occasion..next month will be our 37th wedding anniversary and that's what we are going to do! (we had our honeymoon at Disney world!) Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!

I am reading differing experiences of the Chef's counter. I am wondering if you enjoyed your anniversary meal earlier this year? And were you able to get a personalized meal?

We ate at the Chef's Counter at Napa Rose last trip--very romantic. We each got individualized meals, so we were able to to share and try lots of different courses. That said, it was expensive, and regular Napa Rose would be almost as good. And to be honest, our favorite meal of the trip was at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. We didn't even have a regular seat--we started at the bar and moved to a high top bar table. But the music was great and the shrimp and grits were to die for and we loved the three soup appetizer. That's our must repeat restaurant, even over Napa Rose.

I would do the regular menu at Napa Rose over the Chef's Counter based on my Chef's Counter experience this week. That way you can pick what you want to eat. Chef's Counter is almost entirely off the regular menu anyway, they just randomize what you get from it.

I am just an old country girl, raised on comfort food. Nothing on the menu at Carthay or Napa Rose sounds good to me. Now Ralph Brennans is another story. Give me a bowl of gumbo and some shrimp and grits and I am a happy woman. That would be my choice for a celebration dinner.

Personally, I'd book the Fantasmic Dining packing at Blue Bayou, get there 20 minutes early, and ask for a water table.

Is it the best food in the parks? No, but it's delicious and you can go to a typical fine restaurant anywhere for your anniversary.

Blue Bayou has the best ambiance ever, great food, premium seating for Fantasmic, and it's quintessentially Disney. What's not to love?
