After being a SAHM for 11 years, I started actively looking for a job about 4 months ago, with absolutely NO success. I couldn't even get a response to any of the job applications or resumes I sent. Then, a couple of nights ago, I got fed up with my crappy, penny-paying, online "job", and posted on my FB status that if anyone needed an excellent secretary or assistant, I was available. Well, one of my former HS classmates is a supervisor at our local JobCorps, and, as it turns out, they're looking for a part-time medical secretary, and she took my resume for it yesterday and I take the typing test tomorrow morning! if anyone has a moment to say a quick prayer that I do well tomorrow (got to make at least 55wpm), I'd really appreciate it. I can type 89 wpm with no errors, but I've never had to take a typing test for a job before and I'm SO nervous! This job would be the answer to months of tearful prayers. Thanks!

thanks! it's hard getting back into the working world after being out of it for so long, but even if it doesn't work out, at least i made it this far! there's a job fair in my city next thursday, so i'll still be attending that too, just in case!

Good luck!! It's a bit of an adustment after being at SAHM, but I found partime a great way to start back and still be there for my kids before and after school. It's nice to be out in the grown up world for a few hours a day!
