hi, has anyone out there returned recently from the gf with a GOOD report about housekeeping ? it would be nice (and reassuring) to hear someone saying something positive for a change. here's hoping!

Hi Blanche,

We're heading to the GF in just about 36 hours now. I'll give an update as soon as we return. Better yet, if we make it over to DisneyQuest, maybe I'll have luck getting on-line and I can fill everyone in during my stay. Meantime, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these were isolated incidents and not the "norm".

We went over July 4th weekend. We were in the Royal Palm Concierge. The resort was great! The housekeeper was the best we have had in the past 20+ trips. The room was kept very clean, and she was an absolute sweetheart when we passed her in the halls. She was really outstanding.

The hotel was looking great, and the new pool is awesome.

I read where someone just returned was not happy with concierge at the GF. We had a great time. There was plenty of food throughout the day. The lounge was very nice. If I get another good deal in the future I would definitely go back there.

Enjoy your trip!

Well, our housekeeper did okay. She cleaned the room.

Housekeeping (when you push the "housekeeping" button on the telephone) were the most worthless people I ever delt with. They NEVER did anything that I called and asked them to do. Whether it was fixing the drain or cleaning the balcony, etc! Our room, in general, was not in a very good condition to begin with.

thanks for the uplifting comments! i hope you enjoy many, many wonderful stays at the gf in the future!:D

We were in 7131 back in January. Demaris was our housekeeper. The room was spotless, and she was extremely pleasant.

BTW--This is a nice room. It faces the lagoon, direct view of the castle. It's the last room down the laggon end of the hall to the right (from the lobby) first floor, closet to the boat launch. Non-smoking, non-handicapped. You can walk out the door of the room and you are right next to an exterior door for the building, very quick to get to the boat launch. And if the weather is cold you can literally wait in your room until the boat gets near :)

We were in Sugar Loaf in January and we had immaculate rooms, too. Going back in December!

Hey Everybody,

Just flew in from Disney and boy are my arms tired! Okay, old joke. I'm going to write out my trip reports, but I have one word for our stay at the GF, RPC and that's Wonderful! Honestly, I cannot find one thing that I was unhappy with. I sent in a room request to the controller a few days before we arrived and even though I had numerous requests, 1. 4th floor (food level), 2. Castle view and 3. "Cameo" theme room, I got everything we had asked for. From check-in, to mousekeeping, turn-down service, concierge staff, absolutely everyone we met was helpful and friendly.

Let me know if anyone has any questions and I'll post my daily reports over on that board.

Welcome home! (btw, I sent you a PM - thanks!)

Please tell us about your room! Did you like it?

How was the service provided by the concierge staff?

And, would you stay at the RPC again?

Thanks!

I posted my experience with the GF/RPC (just got back last week) and it was wonderful!! And housekeeping was especially efficient!

GF is wonderful ,we always stay there ,about 3 times a year and housekeeping is wonderful to us an d we are a pretty demanding group(we always have to get 2 rooms)cant wait until october!!!! :p :p :p :p

Cali,

We were in room 4404 and the castle was dead center of our balcony. There were no rooms above us and we never heard any noise from Gasparilla's, which was right below us. Our room was furthest away from the concierge lounge, but that also minimized hallway noise.

The concierge staff was wonderful. We had done most of our priority seating with a pre-planner, but when my six year old decided she wanted to do the character breakfast in the hotel, they arranged seating for us. The staff in the lounge was also very nice. I never saw the food trays go below half full and there always seemed to be plenty. Not once did I walk by a staff member without them stopping to say hello.

We will definitely do the RPC again. We were spoiled and pampered and totally loved it.

These are the kind of reports that make me want to stay in the RPC (the other reports made me cancel stays in the RPC!). :) Thanks for the reviews! ;)
