My DH mentioned he would like a MP3 player a few months back in general conversation for when he mows the lawn..(we have a huge lawn).

Anyway, I started looking as I plan to buy him one for Fathers Day. He does not need anything fancy, just EASY TO USE! I have a Ipod Shuffle and my son has a different brand and I think my Shuffle is harder to get music onto..that being said, i am not a whiz..

Help! Need suggestions.

Everyone in my family has a Creative Zen. All 3 of us love them.

DH and I both have Zunes. Love them. They weren't too hard to figure out, and I'm no tech genius :)

I got my 72 year old technophobe mom the same MP3 player I have (SanDisk Sansa c250 2G) and she LOVES it! She learned how to use it really fast- she loves to show it off to all her retired friends. They are all impressed with her "techno savvy" ways. :rotfl:

It is really easy to sync music from Windows Media Player- I buy downloads from Amazon and rip my old CDs and transfer them over with no problems at all. The player itself is nice- it has an onscreen menu and easy to figure out displays. It is rechargeable with the USB cable, and it can also take a Micro SD memory card to up the memory.

We got my mom's Sansa at Amazon for around $50.

Second the Sansa. You can find good deals and you can get accessories for it (I have an armband and a docking station, for example) Not sure if that's the case with other non-Ipod players.

Extremely easy to manage files...drag and drop, no special software. Love it!

I also have the Creative Zen. I did SO much research, and DH is a crazy tech guy, and I think it's the best one for the money out there.

Another vote for the Zen. Easy to use and tough too. DDs has been dropped a lot. We have to tape it together but it still going strong.

Another Zen vote.
I wear mine while I run. It's hit the pavement so many times and still works great! DS just bought one. It took him all of 3 minutes to figure out all the settings.

Do all of these different mp3 players work in your car/SUV, etc? We are about to buy a new car that will have an mp3 player jack and want to get an mp3 player (we've wanted one for a while now anyway) and I want to make sure it will work in the new car. I assume they will all work as long as you have the plug, right?

Of the ones everyone has listed, do they all have screens (that are big enough for you to read if you are over the age of 12!) - we don't want an ipod shuffle or nano because they either have no screen or it is too small to see what the songs are, etc. Thanks.

What does everyone think of a "no brand" MP3? I saw one that was by GPX and it was only 25.00. I don't need anything fancy I just want my music on something that won't skip like a cd player.

Go to Buy.com and sign up for their email sale alerts. There will probably be a great deal coming along before Father's Day.

I have a Sansa with removable, interchangeable SD cards. Ths way. I do not have to worry about loading up all my songs onto my MP3 player, having it break down, wahsing it, or losing it. :)
