Hi all, we checked to HRH yesterday afternoon around 5pm . We have a view of the pet walk area on ground level. The rm is worn, holes in carpet something wrong with bathtub (looks as if they were redoing it and stopped in middle of it), marks on walls in hallways and other minior things. I am surprised they haven't fixed problems I had heard about on sites like tripadvisor. On positive notes, we are central to everything with this rm location, close to the rest. , workout center, pool and shuttle boats.The view of the dogwalk area is nice, but personally I hate being on ground level even if the windows don't open. I was asked for my drivers lic as proof of Ga res., my cc for limit on rm key, and my loews card but as of yet we have not received a welcome gift nor were we asked what we wanted it to be at check in. The guy that checked us in was friendly but thus far they don't seem to be too knowledgable about there own resort , had to ask a few people how to get to the gate that took us to US and citywalk before we found it. Had dinner at HRC last night ,we all had cheese burgers, they were very good. Came back and toured around the resort a little trying to get our barings on everything, finally the rain stopped and my girls got to swim for an hr or so before bed. Great pool area and great bartenders at the Beach club bar.
well if you have any questions let me know. I will try to check this evening but with the local calls being 1. the first min and .05 for every there after don't think i should stay on here too long:tongue:

So you don't have a pet but you got ground floor? Wow.
That's where they put people with pets. Which is why the carpets and hallways are worn down.
In my case, we're taking our lab, so I expect to be on the ground floor when we visit next week. That is, if they don't cancel my res again. Called last week and they said it's still there.
 
If the room is not in good condition you should bring it to the manager's attention. Please let them know that you are unhappy.

If you have a discounted room(unless it is with AAA), you don't get the welcome gift.

We don't have an animal with us (unless you consider a husband when hungry one:p ) . We do have a smoker in our party and I guess smokers are on the ground floor as well. We told the front desk about the problems with the room and they said they would have them fixed by the time we got back from the parks this evening, we arrived back from parks around 9:30 and nothing had been fixed ,including a electrical plugin not working in the rm. We figured out about the plug in when our lap top battery died this am after posting online:rolleyes: while pluged into the wall.
Also when we came back from the parks there were hairs in the tub that didn't belong to us ( i know this because none of us have extreamly curly hair). the table still had crumbes on it and the bathroom fl still had a piece of paper on it that was there when we left. That will be the last time here i leave a 15. tip for maid. Before we leave the management will know of our problems! Had a great time in the parks though!:cool: Love fotl but will never stay at hrh again with this kind of care or lack of it by there staff.

If you feel uncomfortable then talk to the manager.You should not be on the ground floor.
 
why shouldn't we be on the ground floor?
 
tigerguy2000 is refering back to the animal thing. You shouldn't be on that floor, and i'm sure you'd be happy elsewhere.
 
What if there are none or few people staying with animals? Then nobody is on the ground floor? We accidently got put into a smoking room once and it was on the ground floor. We had no animals. We have had animals on our floors at both the HRH and the RPR and we were not on the first floor. Unless this policy has changed in the last few months, I don't think that the first floor animal rule is enforced.

About the plug, it might be controlled by a wall switch. Quite often they plug lamps in that can be controlled from a convenient location on the wall.

Try to get a manager to come and see your room and why you are not satisfied.
 
:( Sorry to hear about your experiences. Bring it to the attention of the manager, IMO, before you leave!
 
Should we call a few days before check-in to request a non-smoking, non-animal room? I love dogs but don't know if I'd want to be a hotel room that housed a bunch of them that I don't even know (I know they are cleaner than some people!).
 
why talk to management at the end of the trip, that is not fair to them they cannot solve your issue after the fact.
 
We talked immediately to several staff members the spoke to low management before we left, nothing was ever done about the problems in our rm or with lack of cleaning by house cleaning even though several promises were made that things would be done. The plug in that didn't work was NOT one that worked by lightswitch being turned on, that was the first thing we looked for when it didn't work! I intend on writing the general manager once we return home. For now we are at Ron Jon cape caribe and are really impressed with this place. It is absolutely beautiful! :sunny:
