I saw this on the news last night. They said she is the one that wanted to make this public. Sure he was a creep, but to trash your kids DF in the media doesn't speak well of her.

It doesn't sound that way to me. The articles I have read talked about webcams and him being alone. Escort services. $3000 monthly bills for certain websites and stuff.

I think it's horrible that this is going public, but they are not fighting over money. They are fighting over custody of their children. If the father was constantly on porn websites, with a webcam, contacting escort services, having sex with teenagers at his workplace, then I might fight like heck so that he wouldn't get custody either.

The reason she's taking this public is because he kept trying to hush it up and was trying to make outrageous claims for alimony and her assets including several pieces of properties worth millions as well as custody. The home they lived in together, that he helped renovate as an architect, is down the street from me and has been put on the market for $30 million. She found out about the affair after speaking at a local school and having the girl's uncle, a cop, confront her about it as she walked off the stage. She has been publicly humiliated by this and doesn't want him to be able to walk away with tons of her money. Everyone in the area has rallied around her. When the story first broke, it was during a horrible heat wave and the paparazzi were on our street for days. She would come down and bring them popsicles and lemonade. She's actually very sweet and even prettier in person.

Of course Peter Cook would want people to buy that the porn was used as a "maritial aid".

I think Christie is very beautiful and talented woman who is a poor judge of men.

She is fighting for custody of the kids. Her mama bear claws will come out!

He is a loser, but a loser with a great lawyer. My dad is a retired NYC matrimonial attorney (he was at the tops of it in his heyday) and Norman Sheresky is one of the most well respected and well liked matrimonial attornies in New York. Unlike Raoul Felder who claims to be so great, but who does not have the respect of his fellow attornies (although is wife is a better lawyer and he does have a great Public Relations brother).

It sounds like she has really been through it with him. Firts the affairs (wasn't it more than one?) and now I'm sure it's not a picnic for her to go through it publically either. Looks like he would've rather slinked away than go through a court circus like this.

In Ohio, they have really pushed a 50/50 concept of custody, called Shared Parenting. Maybe it is my upbringing that leaves me with this pov:
Why, when 2 people dont want to be married anymore, do they drag the children into it? I mean, just because you want to divorce the person, why does it mean that the other spouse is now not qualified, or loses their right, to raise their children? I just dont get it. Getting divorced and custody, imo, are two totally different issues.
IMO, the person who files the custody suit should be the one scrutinized, because now, not only are they unable to maintain their marriage, but now they are openly admitting that they are unable to co-parent.
I just dont get it. Maybe its just me, but it sounds sometimes, and awful lot like "your mother/father did me wrong, and now you cant see them anymore."

In THIS case, I would have to agree with you. Forget my prior post. However, these custody issues are still always about who the BETTER parent is. Not necessarily about whether a person CAN parent. You dont lose your kids because the other parent is better. There is always a 'better' parent. You lose your kids when youre UNABLE to parent.

Simple. Brinkley needs public sympathy to keep him from her kids. It'd be the last thing I'd want to do to my kids, but I'd do it if I was protecting them. Although the bucket incident is the only one mentioned, he doesn't exactly sound like good daddy material.

Hopefully this will get her custody and he will get supervised visitation.

I think the concern here is that Peter had an affair with a woman who is younger than his own stepdaughter...who he (supposedly) physically harmed. That's a little disturbing - I can understand why Christie wouldn't want him around her younger children.
