Okay, that's a lot of letters, but let's spell it out.
We have preferred seating at the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner on the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party night. Our seating is at 7:05. Should we just cancel this and just get something prior to going to the park? We'll be spending the day at Epcot, so this wouldn't be a problem.
Oh, and we've NEVER been to WDW before, and we've got two kids that are going to be really, really excited!
One more thing, I'd read that the characters aren't necessarily at the Liberty Tree Tavern after 7:00. Is this true? If so, my thought is that it really wouldn't be worth it.

There are so many snacks to try at MK anyway
I hope you can still get the PS you want.
and the costumes are going to be birthday presents from their grandmother, so she's making what they said they wanted (I was hoping she would pick Belle's yellow gown - that is so gorgeous!) But MIL is an expert seamstress so I'm sure whatever she makes them will be gorgeous
