As I was reading a pre-trippie, I got the sudden and undying urge to share this strategy with everyone!
This good idea usually works if you have a party that is on the smaller side. Like just you and your family, and definitely not a huge whole-entire-side-of-the-family party. (Oof. We're not doing that again anytime soon.
)
Anyway, my tip is to have each person have "their day" designated to occur at some time during the trip. For example, they can choose the park(s) to go to that day, what rides to see, and where to eat. I've always been begging my mom for us to go to MK in the morning, Epcot at night, then eat at Kona and monorail hop that night. It's foolproof!
I think it could ease up on the confusion as to what the whole party can agree upon. Each person can get exactly, or as close as they can get to 'exactly', what they want to get out of a day in WDW!
Try it!
