O.K. I'm planning my ADR"s. Where should we eat for a counter and table service meal while in the Animal Kingdom? I will be with my DH, DS(age 9) ,and DD(age 6) all of whom have never been to the World.
Thanks!

For my TS, ADR we are doing Donald's breakfast. Not sure if we will be there for a counter service or not but if we are I think we might try Flame Tree.

I'd save your TS meals for Epcot, D-MGM, or the resorts. The TS restaurants at AK and MK are just not worth it. For CS, the best is Tusker House and Flame Tree Barbecue.

The Breakfast with Donald was good and the characters were great. We had a late ADR, and they even came to our table twice.

The CS place we liked best was Tusker house! Great food!

Vote for Flame Tree or Tusker House we have enjoyed both.RFC would be a TS choice for AK, it is not on dining plan though. :goodvibes :wave2:

I love Tusker House. Would not do a TS at Animal Kingdom.

If you want to eat dinner after your day at Animal Kingdom you could do either the Rainforest Cafe right outside AK, or head over to Boma at the Animal Kingdom resort.

Another vote for Flame Tree. It's one of our favorite meals when we go to Disney-the BBQ is great and the seating is very relaxing. It's a nice place to let my kids rest.

We LOVE the Rainforest for breakfast! We rarely go on a trip without a breakfast there - the french toast is fantastic!

I would do Flame tree BBQ for the counter or Tusker house, depending upon where you are in the park. They're both good. So if you're in or right near, Africa, do Tusker. If you're in the front half of the park or on the rapid/everest side of Asia, do Flame Tree.

For my sit down, I'd go over to the Animal Kingdome Lodge and do Boma.

We're spending a day at the AK and plan to arrive early, eat lunch at the Flame Tree BBQ, return to the hotel and come back for dinner at the Tusker House (on a late closing day for AK). That saves TS for another restaurant-we're planning on using it for the Flying Fish which requires two TS credits. I know children enjoy the Rainforest Cafe and the breakfast buffet, so that might be agood choice for you also.

We were in Ak at opening, rode the safari without wait) since everyone heads to EE first) then cought a great breakfast in Africa at the Tusker House, which also has a bakery next to it...don't miss the apple turnovers!

 another vote for flame tree BBQ! CS place. Kids loved the wings on kids menu...comes with applesauce and corn. Pork sandwich was yummy too! :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: ::MickeyMo  My kids saved the mickey shaped plates!

Tusker House!! Yummy yummy yummy! It is not a TS but very good and unique selections for CS. The corn chowder was yummy! We were a party of five - DM, who is a vegetarian, DH, DS 10 and DD 13 and then me of course! We all loved our meals and ate all we could hold. The only thing left was the trash and the little bit our happy tummies could not stuff in!

we did Donalds breakfast last Dec and it was great. Early seating, food was pretty good and teh character interaction was great
my sons loved it

We love the rotis. chicken meal at Tusker House. 1/2 chicken, potatoes with gravy & delicious veggies. Me & DW split the chicken, I eat the potatoes & veggies--and she gets 2 side orders of the veggies (mostly green beans) for herself. We finish it off by splitting a piece of carrot cake. Note: TH has never been open past 4:00 when we've been there, even at the end of Easter week this year.

I totally agree with Bicker's opinion. We ate at the Flame Tree Barbecue and it was VERY good.

Tusker House is fantastic for a counter service meal. Our family eats cs there 2 x's each trip. It is consistently good and the service is friendly. :)

I would skip out on the Rainforest Cafe if you have one anywhere in your vicinity at home. The one at Animal Kingdom is just about the same as all the others.

We have not tried Donald's, so I can't comment on that.
