good deals on booking while on ship?

Can anyone tell me the benefits of booking a future cruise while on the ship? What are the deposits necessary and do they offer any incentives? Thanks.

from what I've seen on the boards $250 deposit pp I bellieve and you get a $200 shipboard credit on your next cruise.

That's right, you get a $200/cabin credit if you book on board. More importantly perhaps you get the best rate (that's what I was told by the DCL agent when I called from the ship--and that's what I found out when comparing our price vs. what we could have booked for from land) available. The only drawback is that the high months, i.e. summer are NOT available for the discount aboard the ship. We were on the Wonder 4 night Halloween Cruise last year and are on the Magic for the 11/9 Western trip next month.

Here is what we picked up from the onboard booking last week.

Fall rates 4Night Cruise from 399$ good for sailings on 090703,091403 and 092803, Plus you get the 200$ onboard credit.

The 399 is for cat 11,12, cat 10-449$, cat 9 659$, cat8-709. cat 7 was 759 cat 6 - 859 pp.

7n easter Magic had fall rates from 799$ for sailing from 090603,092003,101803,110103,111503,112903,and 121303.

7n Western Magic had fall rates from 849$ for 091303,101103,102503,110803,and 120603.

By the way, I found it very difficult to talk with the cruise rep regarding booking due to the location of the cruise rep's desk. Alot of activity was around and noise, I have a minor hearing difficulty that seemed to make it very frustrating. Just a FYI, for any fellow passengers to check the early times that she is available if you have trouble hearing in crowds.
