It sounds like that young man messed with the bull and got the horns.

I think it stinks. What stunk(?) even more was that I found out from friends his name was announced for 2 awards and his face was splashed all over the band video. The band teacher apparently didn't agree with the banishment, either

Edited...ok, I see you specified "tuxedo thong" but I'm afraid I don't know what that is. Not sure I want to, either!

.Five will get you ten that he has his graduation prank all planned out and ready to go, so no, he should not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. He has proven that he cannot be trusted to behave like an adult at formal events, so I don't think that he should have the privilege of attending them in the near future.
Essentially, what he did was moon the crowd. I would probably have gone for a shorter suspension since it was not during school hours.
Friday night, one of our seniors removed his pants and ran from the prom in full view of most of the guests in a tuxedo thong. The principal has suspended him for five days and he will not be able to participate in the commencement ceremony. The debate, of course, from the students' perspective (and I hear there is a petition to allow him to walk with his class) is that this is too harsh. The principal feels as though he's actually cutting the kid a break by not getting the police involved and that actions have consequences. I side with the principal, but then again I'm old.
Thoughts on the act and the punishment?
ALl I thought of when I read this was "Donna Martin graduates".

Whatever that is?????

There was no revenge, no destruction or vandalism and no animals were hurt in the process. It is a shame that punishments are taken to extremes.
Was the stunt stupid? Yes. Criminal? No.Friday night, one of our seniors removed his pants and ran from the prom in full view of most of the guests in a tuxedo thong.
