Good cheap eats?

I second the Trails End Buffet. If you are in the Magic Kingdom, it is just a quick boat ride away. It is in a nice setting and the food is GOOD! We went for lunch and I believe the cost was $8 or $9 for the adult buffet. A nice alternative to counter service restaurants.

I forgot all about Starlight Ray's! But their roast chicken and redskin mashed potatoes are gooooood! My kids' chicken strips were very good too. I would go there again in a heartbeat.

At Epcot, Sunshine Season Food Fair in the Land is good. We ate their our first night and were all happy with our food. I got a vegetable lasagne, which I loved. My parents got a tuna hoagie, they said it was excellent. My kids got the Mickey pasta and I have no idea what dh got. He and ds were sitting at another table b/c we ran out of room. LOL

Most of the counter service restaurants are pretty reasonable for Disney. We always like to hit Columbia Harbor House in the Magic Kingdom. At Epcot, it seems like all we do is eat but sunshine food fair is very reasonable and the choices are many.

There are quite a few ways to cut meal costs. Here are just a few suggestions for sit down restaurants that get us by, and we are filled up without being miserable.......

1. The Coral Reef: we order a salad and a bowl of lobster bisque; with the bread and butter that comes with it and maybe a split dessert (not often!) we're satisfied without being stuffed. Of course it's just DH and myself.

2. The Rose and Crown: we order their Walnut/Stilton salad (wonderful!) and an appetizer, usually either the Mushroom Medly or the Lamb Barley soup and maybe split a dessert (I enjoy the Lemon Posset).

3. Teppanyaki: we'll usually order one entree and split it. Last trip we did the shrimp and chicken entree..... and split a hazelnut mousse for dessert! (We are looking at trying the Yakatori House though, their menu looks interesting also!)

4. Le Cellier: we split a cup of cheese soup or a salad and usually have the salmon or the mushroom filet. And maybe a chocolate "Moose" or sorbet for dessert- unless DH is holding out for a beavertail or something.......

We've also split entrees at Flying Fish, Spoodles, Beaches and Cream, the Grand Floridian Cafe, the Concourse Steakhouse, Kona Cafe, you name it.... we've probably done it!!

I hope that this information helps.......

We love Casey's Corner at the Magic Kingdom! By far the best hot dogs we have ever had, we usually eat at the sit down restaurants but always work in a trip there, even if it's just for a snack!

Columbia Harbor House in MK is great! We've eaten there several times, the 1st time was when we took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Another good place in MK is El Pirata y el Perico. They serve really good tacos!

Are PS's necessary or advised (or available) for the Trail's End Buffet? Is any one particular meal more or less recommended?

They do not accept PS's for the Trails End Buffet. We were there on a Saturday around 1 for lunch, and it wasn't crowded at all.
