Good/Bad news Disney Phone Offer

Good news, I just got off of the phone with Motorola. I received an email stating that my phones had been shipped, but wasn't given a UPS tracking number. The customer service rep was able to track down that number for me and I was able to track it through UPS.

Looks like I should receive mine in the mail today. So if you did receive an email confirmation that your order was shipped, then it looks like you will be getting your order.

Now for the bad news, during my call to Motorola and during the selection process for the correct department, there was a recording that said something like this:

If you are calling in reference to the Disney cordless phone promo, we are sorry but due to the overwhelming response our stock has been depleated and the offer has ended.

If this is the case, not sure why they would begin an email waiting list for future sales. Let's hope it is because they indeed will be offering this again.

This is a repeat of my reply posted in original post, just in case someone missed it.
 
Well, I ordered mine Monday, and got a message today that they had been shipped (but no tracking number). So far I haven't gotten the out of stock e-mail, but I'm not holding my breath either!
 
I am glad for you guys but I am fuming because I ordered mine early Sunday morning and I recieved an email that I will not be recieving mine due to them being sold out. :badpc: :bounce:

I ordered mine sunday after 2 hours of being on line I thought I was lucky.
I got the sold out email. :badpc:
 
Sorry for those that were able to order and aren't getting their phones and for the ones who couldn't order at all.

If you ordered and now you aren't getting them, which set did you order? Not sure if this had anything to do with me getting my order or not, but I ordered the 2 classic Mickey phones (already had a Princess one) on Monday.

You might want to try and contact Motorola direct and explain that a 10% discount doesn't cut it when you had a confirmed order, hopefully you saved the email so you can reference the date and time it was sent.

Worth a shot.
 
I ordered one of each and got the "Sorry" email...and that's exactly what it is a real sorry excuse for customer service. You would think from a supposed leader in technology they could get the dog gone website hooked to the inventory system to report correctly whether or not they are in stock. I know when I ordered them Sunday morning it said "in stock", and I immediately got a confirmation email. Little good that does now. Sorry for whinning in your ear. :sad2:
 
I also had ordered the combo, I recieved the confirmaiton e-mail and another followup email saying that my order was being processed and now today Sorry!
 
I had another thought for those of us who are upset about getting a confirmation email only to be told the items were sold out with little compensation - if you feel compelled, you can also file a complaint with the better business bureau.

I ordered my phones ( the combo) on Sunday Morning and got the confirmation email ( 2 of them ) on Monday. Then last night I got the lovely email that states the item is sold out.
I am not sure what the process is that they used for the orders but it seems that they goofed up on the site and sold out long before they stopped selling them, and then how did they determine who gets the order and who does not?
I have just resigned myself that I guess I will hit up walmart for a BORING old grey phone of some sort :) . I refuse to got to Ebay as I am not paying more for them.
Happy for those of you that got your Phones though!! :cheer2:
I hope more people on the boards get the phones then people who get the SORRY email .

I wonder how they figured who got them- different distribution centers so geographic?

This is really weird. I don't understand the decision process either.

I ordered late Sunday night, about 8:30, and I'm on the West coast. I got a thank you email with an order number soon after it finished processing. About an hour later got a "we're working on your order" email (two in fact). Then yesterday I got an email with my UPS tracking number, with an expected delivery next Monday.

I ordered the classic/princess combo.

I'm quite sure Motorolla didn't expect the volumes of business they got, but that's still no excuse for poor service.
 
It is so weird that some people ordered on sunday for the combo pack and their orders were canceled. I ordered on Monday for the combo pack and my order is expected to be here tomorrow.

:rolleyes1 After a 25 minute phone call(19 on hold), I received my tracking number. The call center I spoke with was in Argentina! This company is obviously running as cheaply as it possibly can! Complaints to the BBB won't do much, as the items were listed in the clearance section. I don't think I would waste my time complaining, as Motorola thought that a 10% discount code was satisfactory. Better use of frustration, shop elsewhere and don't support Motorola! :rolleyes1
 
Happy to hear some of you Disers are still getting the phones, BUT.. the part that seems so unfair to me is that I ordered around 8:30 on Sunday morning and got the e-mail that said SORRY, while others who ordered late on Sunday have received theirs. Customer service and order processing at Motorola must have a very strange system of filling orders. Oh well, it was a GREAT deal and worth a shot. ::MickeyMo
 
I ordered the combo early monday morning 2/27/05 and received confirmation and tracking number for the phones. they should be delivered today. thats strange how it all turned out.
