Good/Bad experience with Ferrell's?

So far for me it hasn't been the best. He is terrible at responding. He sent me a quote around 9 am yesterday and I emailed him immediately. He didn't get back to me until almost 8 pm. I emailed him back maybe 10 minutes later saying we were ready to book. And now it's 11:20 am...and guess what..NO RESPONSE! VS and VU are totally booked for the dates we're going so I'm trying to overlook this issue with Ferrell. But I have to be honest, he makes me nervous with his slow response time! I'm hoping to hear some positive experiences with him!
 
He seems to be getting back to you in a timely fashion. He responded to you within in 24 hours. Expecting anything shorter than that time period is unreasonable. If you want to book instantly - maybe you should try something like orbitz etc...

He might not be the fastest to respond but I have heard very good things from friends of our's who ended up booking with him last year. Have no fear.
 
I tried to book with him in feb and he was traveling. His timeliness was horrible. He indicated more than once we would connect the next day,etc to complete the reservation and never followed through. I finally gave up and rented from someone else who was much prompter with communication. Had the week not already had limited availability I would not have been so worried. And I gave him 5 days total when I was ready to book on day 2. Since he gets such good reviews here I figured I must of contacted him at a very bad time.
 
We used him to book our vacation and he did everything he said he would do. He did take a day to respond but I had read reviews that he was legit so I did not let it get to me. I checked him out and his website is legit and he is registered with the BBB in Hawaii (he rents a timeshare there also)

This is what he's doing to me! GRRR! He didn't respond for almost 24 hrs, then emails me with: got your email. I'm working on moving things around to get your reservation. I'll contact you tomorrow.....

I may be impatient but I really really want to book something NOW before WBC is totally sold out!
 
I know nothing about this individual, but your expectations seem pretty unreasonable if this is someone who just does casual rentals. If you want immediate service, book directly with the resort. You can call them and immediately reserve the week you want. You pay for that service, of course.

You may have to give up immediate responses to book from an owner. I have rented my timeshare weeks a time or two and I certainly would consider a 24 hour turnaround for messages acceptable. I would probably just decline to rent to someone who was irritated if I didn't respond in just a few hours. This person likely has a life, possibly including a job, outside of renting vacation weeks.

I get what you're saying. But I didn't get the impression he was a casual renter. Regardless, I didn't end up booking with him. After the first email of "I'm working on it", I responded with a thank you and that I'm sorry for being so annoying, I'm just anxious to book. He wrote back saying he completely understood and will have a reservation set up for us no later than that evening. 5 more days passed from then and still nothing. I ended up booking with someone else. I don't have any hard feelings towards Ferrell. Things happen. I will say I didn't know he was in HI so I completely understand the 24 hr response time.

2. I rent from "casual" owners all the time, and not only do they reply promptly (even from across the pond), they re-contact me...

3. "Casual" owners tend to need your business, as empty condos don't do much to retire the mortgage and losses can't be spread around to other revenue opportunities...

4. The level of attention paid by one while trying to earn your business is about the same level you should expect after he's gotten it...
