Good arrival dinner choice at Poly or should we do Cinderella at GF?

What is the choice for dinner at the POLY resort? When we went on our 1st family WDW trip in 08 and stayed at the GF, we chose the place inside the GF with Cinderella for our arrival dinner and it was AWESOME. What is the place at POLY that would make for a good arrival dinner and is it good? Thanks in advance Any details on what is served and if anyone has any photos, I would appreciate it!

The only TS restaurants in the Polynesian are 'Ohana and Kona. Both serve dinner. No characters at either.

Both restaurants at the Poly are excellent. IMHO, Kona Cafe has better food but 'Ohana is more of a fun experience for families especially those with younger children. Getting a reservation for 'Ohana is very difficult.

As mentioned above- the only two table service at the POLY are O'hana and Kona. O'hana is possibly more fun if you are into loud games and family style eating. Kona offers really good food but is more of a quiet meal. Depends on what you are looking for. You could also take the monorail over to teh Grand Floridian for Park Faire if you wanted character dining (i've never done the dinner though)

When we stay at the Poly, we eat at Kona. We make an effort to eat at Ohana on every trip no matter where we are staying.

Kona is more relaxed and for us that is a good way to start a trip, if we arrived late afternoon and are just checking in, grabbing dinner and then going to room to relax for the upcoming day.

If you want to get a Disney feel going, I would choose Ohana.

After a long day of travel our family likes the "all-you-can-eat" served family style at Ohana. But I have some big kids!! DS 19 &17 and DD 21! We are usually starving and it always tastes really good! But Kona is great too, and more quiet and relaxing after a day of travel, so it really depends on what you want.
