I will try...Absolute best deal is through auctions for Orlando. Try www.ibidusa.com
There are some smaller country clubs that advertise here and you can play some fun basic golf for 2 or 4 for a great rate.

Rates are much higher Jan to April and then go down a lot...summer is a steal for golf.

If Auctions are not your thing then 9 hole executive courses are the next best for low cost...fun little one called Polo Park East just south on 27 off 192 west of Disney...9 holes, par 3 very well kept tees and greens..

Next for a full 18 holes depends on how far you want to drive. The farther from Disney and Orlando the cheaper the golf....

King's Ridge north on 27 from 192 is a good deal.
Legends just across the road is pretty good deal too...
One step up is Ridgewood Lakes just south of 192 on 27 is a nice course for a reasonable price..

Once in the area pick up some coupon books and they will have some discounts.

If you more specific questions let me know...

Enjoy..Ted

Thanks Ted, do you have any sites you use to book tee-times or any others that you recommend in the Orlando area.

Ted,

Have you tried Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando? Our club here in Washington has free recipricals with them and we thought we'd try them out next trip.

Can't beat free, but we'd like to know if anyone has tried this course.

Kings Ridge can be tought to get early tee times...Legends is a little easier for non-residents. (I live on the 10th fairway at Legends) Mid-day Legends is usually pretty wide open.

Greens fees for non-residents are $38.50 before 10:00am and $35.00 after, this includes the cart--that's for now, rates differ by season. They do club rentals for $20. There is a dress code--collared shirts and golf shoes are required, and slacks or walking shorts--no jeans/cut-off's.

Call 352.243.1118 for reservations, or http://www.legendsgolforlando.com/golf/proto/legendsgolfclub/index.htm

Hi JoEllen,
have never Orange Tree....Have played Orange Lake, and Orange county National but not "the tree.''...Sorry.

I do not use any sites to book tee times except the auctions...I think you pay more thorugh the booking sites than you do from coupons and playing after noon...Aalso pick up the Orlando Sentinal and look for little 1 inch coupons in the sports section...they can give a you a good deal at times....
One good one that I know people use is www.teetimesusa .

Good Luck and have a great time...Ted

Bumping this thread up to see if anyone has more suggestions for good non-Disney golf courses in the Orlando area? Where do you find the coupon books with information about golf courses? Thanks for any help.

Bumping to ask for advice on getting early tee times. I'm pretty clueless about golf but have to make arrangements for a family trip. It would be so much easier if my dad wasn't cheap!

Thanks!

Gillian - Are you talking about golfing WDW courses? If so, the best rates we have found have been Annual Pass discount rates. The earliest you can call for tee times is 7 days out. If no AP's, they have special discounts for after 3:00. If you're playing in summer season this will likely get you wet!

I agree Falcon's Fire is quality especially the GPS buggies?

Falcon's Fire is great, but the cost is not exactly a bargain. I'd try Orange County National, Southern Dunes or Highlands Reserve for that money. Courses are just as nice and a little less costly.
