Golf cart necessary????

My wife, 3 daughters(ages 6, 4, and 1) and I will be spending 3 nights in a cabin next October. We plan on spending 2 days at Magic Kingdom and 1 day at Animal Kingdom. Do you think we will need a golf cart? We would like to do the Hoop De doo Revue and camp fire on a different night. Any suggestions on where we should request our cabin to be? Any other suggestions for us would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance

A golf cart is nice to have but not absolutely necessary. Cabins in 2200 are a little closer to the main pool and campfire, but it's still a hike. Internal transportation will get you where you want to go, though. 3 days is a short stay so you might not get a lot of use out of a golf cart. Look at the sticky for the FW map and that will show you where stuff is. Look at the threads and you'll get the answers to a lot of questions. Good luck!

We're taking a golf cart this time for the fun of it. But when we went last year, we did just fine with bikes. If you hang out at the Fort a lot, a golf cart becomes more of a "necessity". But if you're like us and spend the majority of your time at the parks, you can't take a cart there anyway.

What did you guys think of the campfire and what time does it usually get started at night? I am thinking it might get too late for youngest to go to.

The campfire was pretty cool for the kids. They have sing-a-longs and Chip and Dale are there. You can make smores as well. In October, it will most likely be plenty warm. Before the movie starts, you can head back if it's getting too late or the movie's not your favorite.

My two sons obviously didn't want to stay for Pocahontas when we went.

The Campfire Sing-A-Long is a lot of fun!! That, coupled with the movie might be a little too long for the kids. Bring a stroller for the baby & I'm sure she'll fall asleep in no time. Bring blankies for the other girls too, as they might just fall asleep on your laps during the movie.

We think the cart is a must!! Riding around and meeting other campers is part of our trip. Not to mention if you are there around a holiday it is very fun to ride around and look at all the decorations.

I know some of you are not going to believe I am saying this BUT...

If you are going to spend that much time in the parks, I would just use WDW transportation for this trip. We bring our golf cart, but also spend a lot of time in FW, so we feel it necessary. If we were going to do three parks in three nights' stay, I don't know that I would bring it. Buy your kids something with the money you were going to use on the carts.

On the campfire, I have an almost 4 year-old (this saturday) and he loves the sing-a-long and takes in about 10 minutes of the movie. Check the movie lists and make sure it is one that will keep their interests. They will have fun either way.

DW and myself had charge of our 4.5yo and 2.5yo DGSs while DS was in Afghanistan and after. We made it a point to go to WDW and stay at FW almost every month while we had them, 1 1/2+yrs. I had a trailer behind my bike and would go out with them and DW on her bike looping and going to WL quite often. Never rented a cart and we never missed it. Boys enjoyed it and it was good exercise for a couple of 55yo DGPs.

my son's birthday is 11/27 and Joe DiMaggio's birthday is 11/25, and it's something else that's important to me, but i can't remember.....

see, great people have their kids in November, or is it that they just fool around the same month 9 months earlier, shoot, I can't ever remember...
