How is it possible to drink pieces of gold? This cannot be good for you. Also how is this stuff not more expensive when it has pieces of gold in it. I had never heard/seen of it until tonight, and the mere idea freaks me out.

It's actually (to my knowledge) gold leafing, which is realitively inexpensive. The flakes are pretty small & it would be similar to drinking a liquid with paper the size of fruity pebbles at paper width.

All in all, the liquor probably does more damage than the gold ;)

Now on the the important stuff - you've just now heard of it?

I've seen it but never tried it. What does it taste like?

All I know about it is if you drink too much of it, you'll have one nasty hangover in the morning!

OooOOhoooohh!! Goldschlager is ... An experience! ;-)

Imagine drinking liquor that tasted like "Red Hot" candies, and you've got a pretty clear idea. It's got a very potent, yummy cinnamon flavor, but whatever you do, do NOT heat it up! My friend got the brilliant idea of heating up a shot of Goldschlager in the microwave and giving it to me to drink on a dare, and (because I was a very silly gal at the time, mind you!) I drank the whole thing in one gulp and practically felt my esophogas melting from the combined heat of the liquid and the hot flavor of the liquor. Yikes!

That being said though, it makes some fierce mixed drinks! :p

mmmmmmmmmm Goldschlager... The breakfast of champions.

Actually, yes, the "gold flakes" are just tiny little thin pieces of gold-leaved paper. When you drink it, you don't even know it's there; unless you get one stuck in your throat LOL.

I like Goldschlager, but My drink of choice is Vodka... It's so flexible... Vodka & Watermelon Pucker are excellent. Add them together & you have a Watermelontini!

Always drink it slopeside! It make me ski better or was that makes me get hurt less when I fall. Nice & warm going down!

Try Goldschlager with coke. Gives it a kick and a bit of a spicy taste.

Goldschlager -- the shot of choice before my bridesmaids and I walked down the aisle. I thought it was appropriate!
