extremesoccormom....I an new to this whole thread thing but I too would love to get in on the Refrig Swap as well. We are going to be going to the Pop Century Resort October 3rd thru 10th. What do I need to do to sign up?

Most of the Swap have a master list usually on the first post with a list of when the fridge is in use. Ours is already in use Oct 3-10 but I could add you to my waiting list in case the person cancels. If you haven't already checked the others there is a sticky at the top of the Budget board with ALL the fridge swaps. You are early enough to check out some of the other swaps.
Good Luck, I will cross my fingers that you are able to find one. It comes in so handy to have cold drinks, milk or treats when you get back to the room.

They found the fridge right away without a receipt, just by our name. $10 tip to the CM, going out and going back, to keep their goodwill. I asked the first guy and was told that Disney has no problem with the fridge swaps, as long as they are clearly labeled. (BTW--TOT10-5 did an outstanding job!!!) Who knows if the CM was just humoring me or if that's true.

Fridge is boxed up, labeled, and in luggage assistance waiting for next user.

I can confirm they will not give a receipt anymore. They did give us a receipt for our "same-day" items, and they actually wrote the specific time on the receipt for when we'd be returning to claim our carry-ons.

Definitely need to wedge some wash cloths under the front to allow the door to open and close smoothly. The box is in **really** bad shape so we needed to use all the packing tape I brought. If you're coming soon, please bring a roll to donate. You'll need it in order to put the box back together.

The fridge still works great. Inner shelves are adjustable, but if you put the shelf too high things on the top shelf almost freeze.

Thank you ladies for all the praise. I am happy to keep this fridge in use as much and as long as we can.
I am glad for the update and I also had the same response from the CM when I used the fridge. They could not be more helpful and did not mind at all to help with the fridge. It is really important that we the swappers keep the fridge well marked and clean.
MMMM I also have been trying to figure out a way to do a quick Spring Break trip again. I have a new fridge box maybe I need to work on this some more!

Hi Is there perhaps a waiting list for this swap? I'm desperately looking for a fridge from May 24 to June 3, and every single swap is taken on those dates. I wondered if you'd take my name down just on the off chance that there's a cancellation? Unfortunately I cannot PM just yet; I've been on the DIS since 2004 but recently had to create a new account thanks to a malicious identity hijacking attempt.

This is a reminder this fridge is only for use at WDW POPCentury.

I received a call today from the Disney Cruise Line telling me they cannot accept the shipment of my fridge. Imagine my surprise! I told her that the fridge is for a swap I run at POPCentury and the fridge should never leave there. I expected her to tell me they would have to get rid of it but she offered to send it back to POP on the next truck. I hope this was just an honest mistake but a number of swaps have closed lately due to missing fridges.

I am happy to run this swap as long as the fridge holds out. Luckily ours is well marked since I received this call about it. These things are hard enough to take care of when they are where they are supposed to be.
Thank you everyone for your cooperation.
I will be calling POPCentury on Monday to make sure it arrives back safely and is ready for the next swapper.

We are back on track. I was very happy with the way Disney handled the fridge and called me right away. I was also glad, after hearing other threads about how the CM hate having to deal with all the fridges, that the CMs I talked to had no problem with it. They were all very helpful.

Broke down and decided to do the Mother Daughter trip in June instead of spring break. We will eat well with a $300.00 gift card between two of us.

Just wanted to pop in and thank you again for organizing this.

The fridge swap worked great.

When we arrived we did a face to face handoff to pick it up. The box is definitely in bad shape, but everything else is fine.

When we were checking out, I hit the luggage service button on the phone in the room and told the woman that answered that I was participating in a fridge swap and was hoping someone could pick it up to store it for the next swapper. She was sweet as can be and sent someone up within a few minutes. It is labeled for the next person. I tipped the person who picked it up $10.
