Does the Gold/Platinum reception take place on every cruise regardless of length?
It's not on 3 night cruises. As it's generally done on the first sea day, and 3 night cruises generally don't have a sea day.Does the Gold/Platinum reception take place on every cruise regardless of length?
The one I was most disappointed in was on our 5 night cruise. The officers sort of just roamed around the tables/groups and there was no presentation (yes that little DCL "commercial" video with Karl), and no Q & A. Well, except if you managed to corral the officer you wanted to ask something of.I always enjoy the reception! I will also add, on our 7 night sailings the reception seemed much longer and even included Q&A. On my last 4 night sailing it felt quite rushed but was still not to be missed. It likely varies depending upon how busy the crew are at the time.
we are actually on a 3 day this year coming up that has a sea day instead of Nassau. It's not on 3 night cruises. As it's generally done on the first sea day, and 3 night cruises generally don't have a sea day.
It's been on all our cruises: 4, 5, 7, 10, 14, & 15 night cruises.
We have never done it before, but maybe we should carve out time for it? how long does it last?We enjoyed ours and were pleased to meet the Merchandise officer who was talking up the Star Wars cruises and product. Alot.
It was kind of sweet though and he was a very nice man. We ran into him several times after that initial meetup and he remembered my husband and son by name. Which is always kind of nice and just adds to the magic and fun.
The cocktails and snacks are really nice and we (okay I) LOVED the rice krispie Mickey treats!

Your cabin can go with you. You would be welcome.I'll be gold before my husband. Does that mean I would go solo if I chose to go to the reception?

Ha Ha..............never too full on a Disney Cruise. They didn't have any rice krispie treats at our reception, and the other "treats" were just meh. DH and I both felt it was a waste of time. RCCL does a much better job with their receptions. Hot and cold appetizers, super desserts, live entertainment, and a lot more officers. We were almost too full to go to dinner. (I said almost.)
