Hi everyone,
So my girlfriend and I will be traveling from New Hampshire down to Orlando October 4 through October 11. This is our first "real vacation" together in 3 years and we are both incredibly excited.

We will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside for the week.

I was just wondering what its generally like at WDW in October (Weather, crowds, etc).

The last time I was there was in December 2006, but I was a teacher with my old high school's marching band, therefore I spent my week chaperoning and doing more head counts than enjoying my stay.

I hope to hear from a lot of you! Thanks!

Hi neighbor! I'm from southern Maine and we've gone often in October. The weather should be quite warm, 80-90 daytime and 60's at night. You'll be there the week before Columbus day, so crowds will be moderate.

Food and Wine Festival will be in full swing at EPCOT and Eat To The Beat concerts. MNSSHP also going on at MK . Plan accordingly. MK closes at 7pm on MNSSHP nights. Here's a link for park hours/parades/fireworks, etc: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm

Port Orleans Riverside is a beautiful resort. They also have a great food court. Make sure you take the boat to DTD. We stayed in the mansion rooms in Oak Manor when we were there.

Still Hurricane season!! We were there during Wilma.

Have a great time!!!

Yes, barring a hurricane, the weather is divine! More crowded than September, less than summer. A great time to visit.
POR is beautiful.
Happy Vacation - we will be there the end of October!

We will be there Oct. 2-7 at BWV. POR is one of our favorite resorts and the boats to DTD are wonderful. We can't wait to enjoy F & W Festival, the weather, lower crowds and all this wonderful time of year has to offer.

Enjoy your long overdue, well-deserved vacation! :goodvibes

We are there the 4th - 11th too (at CSR). We did the same week a few years ago. Crowds shouldn't be bad leading up to the weekend. However, I would expect it to be quite crowded over the weekend particularly at Epcot for F&W. Late April/early May is my preferred time to go but.....Oct. is a close second.:thumbsup2

We have stayed at POR. Its a great resort I really like that it has the boat to DTD....gives more dining options.

I would imagine chaparoning a group of HS kids would be kinda crazy....hope this trip is a little more relaxing. :)
