My DD had the most magical MAW trip back in Nov 2001. We are fortunate enough to be able to take her back this Oct for another visit.

I am worried that she will be a bit disappointed this time because she loves characters and they really gave her special attention last time.

Any experience with returning after a MAW trip? How did you make it just as magical??

Did you visit GKTW Village?? My DD wants to. Do we need to call ahead???

TIA

Melinda

Lucky you to be going back to WDW.

I think that your Dd is probably old enought to understand an explanantion that she will not get as much attention from the characters. It doesn't have to be a long explanation, but maybe just tell her that the characters spend more time with the kids who have been at GKTW village since those kids might not be lucky enough to go to WDW again. Point out that there are lots of kids who want to see the characters and that the characters need to spend a little time with everyone in line, so they can't spend as much time as she might like.

For visits to GKTW village, I know someone posted once that the staff at GKTW absolutely love visits from past guests. It's nice for them to see kids who are happy and doing well enough to visit WDW. I think the person who posted the information said that they were planning to call first just to make sure it would be a good time to come.

Don't know your DD's age or medical condition but I do know that my 2 girls are 13 and 5 both use wheelchairs and the characters alway make over both of them.

Thanks for the advice SueM. I do think she will understand about the characters - She will be almost 7 then. She is also very understanding and sensible about things if I explain it to her. I also think that she is getting more interested in some of the rides and shows. She was looking at the Guide for Kids the other night picking out things she wants to do and see.

I will call GKTW Village ahead of time - It will be great to visit again - we were so sad when we left there, it truly is a special place with exceptional people!!!!

Michigan - My DD is not in a wheelchair, thankfully she looks very normal and has been doing so well.

Thanks again for all your advice.

Melinda
