Just rented condo in Kissimmee for 16-23 December 2006. :cool1: Surprize trip for husband and son who are in Iraq right now with Army, they are coming home Nov 16, 2006. :dance3: My daughter in law and I are surprizing them with a week in Kissimmee. Also my daughter in law and granddaughter's( will be 6mos) first visit. :cheer2: Grandson (5y) going too, his second trip, :wizard: first was last year in June with myself and grandpa.

We will be driving to WDW with the kids, any tips for a 19 hour trip??? Should we stop overnight or drive striaght thur??

Thanks :cool1:

We drove last year with our DSs 3 and 5. For us it was 22hrs. We drove 8 hours the first day. Stopped in Kentucky for night, The second day we drove for 12 hours and stopped in Lake City Fl. and the the third day we drove 2 hours to the condo and spent the day at DTD. We would stop for a break maybe every 3hours or so. Our DS 5 did okay, but DS3 barely made it. We brought snacks, coloring books, lots of DVDs,and books. DS5 was fine with all these things but DS3 wasn't interested.
We are driving again the first week of Dec. This time we are leaving in the evening and driving mostly at night, hopefully they will sleep. Now we have a DD6mo. to take with us too.

I am so happy for you that they will be home for the holidays....My DH will be leaving before the holidays but I am making plans for 2007! The kids already know that when daddy gets home we will be going to WDW. It will give us something to plan while we wait for him to come home.

So 19 hours? We are in HH so I was debating flying versus driving. I have a while to go but no time like the present to make some fun plans...too early to pick dates but I can start thinking...

I drive 13 hours with my 6 and 3 yr olds to see grandparents...We drive straight through even when I am by myself with them. If you have not gotten one, I would think seriously about a dvd player and movies for your grandchild...I was completely against it until I started driving frmo TX to MO alone...now it is the only reason we make it in one day.

I am all for spending as much time in FL as possible so I would likely drive straight through...WIth 4 adults and leaving EARLY in the morning, I think it would be do-able.

 Hi all, :wave2:

We can hardly wait, :cheer2: :woohoo: we made the trip last year with grandson and he did very well with the DVD player. :happytv: We are going to take 2 vehicles, one with us and grandson and the other with son, daughter in law and granddaughter. We will leave right after husband and son sign out on leave and drive all the way down. Just not sure how granddaughter at 6 1/2 monthes will do. :cloud9:

Not to sure what to pack for the trip. :confused3 Latest we have gone is week before thanksgiving and the weather was great. Any ideas???

Thanks
Mickrzy :cool1: :yay:
