Going to the parks solo

Thanks everyone! I can't believe that our trip is right around the corner!!! I'm really looking forward to our first adults only trip, and my first solo 1/2 day in AK!! I'm sure I will have a blast!!

You will love your adult only trip. We have been doing many adult only trips now for about five years. Many of our vacations now include my adult children again. It stops and then starts all over and with the grandchildren. Enjoy it!!!

You will enjoy doing it alone. You are not really alone and people don't know you are alone. I have only done it once - sort of/semi-alone. I took my daughter and her friend. they did their thing and I did mine all week (except for a meal here and there). For me the first few meals alone were hard but I adjust fine. You obviously don't have to worry about this.

Have fun! I have loved my solo trips and would do another in a heartbeat. Strolling at your own pace is a great treat when you otherwise have to compromise with others. And AK is the perfect place to just stroll and take in the theming at whatever pace makes you happy. I also felt perfectly comfortable going on rides alone. Some people fear the "how many in your party?" question at the loading area of rides but I never once was made to feel uncomfortable about it by other guests or the ride CMs. Let us know how you liked it when you return!

I've gone solo several times & my last trip was riding solo in an ECV with no issues! I agree with what others have said that most people don't pay much attention or much thought into anything else but their own travel party so it's not uncomfortable for me. The best is being able to move at your own pace & do exactly what you want when you want to. Oh, and definitely take advantage of EE single rider line. It's the quickest IME of all 3 SR lines on property!

I'm getting really excited now! We are in our hotel room at the airport... Our twins are heading off to England tonight to visit their grandparents for 2 weeks... Then we head off tomorrow afternoon!!! I can't believe after months of planning, it's finally here!

DH just asked if I minded if he played a round of golf while we are on our trip. I don't mind at all, and told him to go ahead and book a morning tee time... I am going to head to AK by myself for a few hours in the morning starting at RD.

I've never been to a park by myself before... For those who have, is it strange walking around all by yourself???

I retired in December and am seriously getting serious about the fun of a solo WDW trip. DW knows my love of Disney (Sorcerer Mickey is my inspiration if you didn't see the tat). But she doesn't get why I would want to go alone. And maybe neither do I. So thanks for asking the question! And thanks everyone for the supportive comments!
