DH just asked if I minded if he played a round of golf while we are on our trip. I don't mind at all, and told him to go ahead and book a morning tee time... I am going to head to AK by myself for a few hours in the morning starting at RD.

I've never been to a park by myself before... For those who have, is it strange walking around all by yourself???

Not at all. I have been to WDW many times solo. Never a problem, always enjoyable. You will love it.

Here is a forum dedicated to the experience.

Wow! An entire sub forum I've never seen! Thanks! I think I will enjoy my morning once I get over myself... I'm not one to go to the movies or out to eat by myself... but I'm not going to sit in the hotel while he's playing golf - not while the parks are calling me!!

Not even remotely strange. I go to the parks solo all the time. I took a 2-week-long WDW trip solo before I moved here. It's likely that nobody will even notice, and if someone does, they'll just assume that the rest of your party is doing something else (if they even care enough to think about it).

I know you are right, and I'm sure no one is giving me a second thought!

It's great going by yourself! You can do what you want when you want! I'm going solo for 4 days in August and can't wait! Have a great time!

I LOVE going by myself! It's such a fun way to experience the parks. Go at your own pace, change plans if you want...without any worry about anyone else. It's great!

I agree, it's fun going by yourself as you can navigate through the crowds much easier. You can also have great conversations with the CM and learn so much at AK.

I've been on 3 solo trips and getting ready to go on my 4th in Sept. No one even notices or cares for that matter. Who knows why someone is by themselves. Maybe the rest of the family is riding another ride or off shopping. Frankly, while I love going with my grown son, I actually might enjoy going solo more. I go at my own pace, do what I want to do and if that's ride COP then times, I can do it.

I spent an evening solo in MK last year and it was the best time I've had in the park, it's so nice solo as you can do exactly what you want, when you want. I'm now heading to DLR solo in a few months and can't wait and will no doubt do a solo WDW trip next year

Two solo trips to WDW (plus one to Universal and one to Sea World) and a third coming up. DW attends a conference in Orlando most years and while she networks I visit the parks. Love going solo!

I set my own pace, go where I want, spend as much time there as I want, ride the same ride several times in a row before the line gets too long, take a break or eat when I want, arrive or depart when I want, etc.

When my kids were teenagers it was not unusual for us to split up so everyone could do what they wanted for an hour or so; go on a ride no one else was interested in, get a snack, go shopping, etc. Trust me, no one is going to notice, let alone care, that you are solo. In fact, people like me who are with family or a group are more likely to be envious of your freedom of choice.

Not at all! I just got back from a solo trip to Disney. When you are solo you get to do what you want when you want. Its also quicker walking through the crowds so you can hit up a lot in a short time. Trust me no one even notices you're alone. I had a great time. Enjoy!

Have loved my solo trips! Single Rider lines - getting called up past 150 people in front of me to ride Soarin - TWICE IN A ROW, without getting off!
Slowing down and taking it all in. Even doing a 4 park challenge with some friends following me on Facebook.
Definitely take the opportunity and see what the day brings you!

I did my first solo day in 2010 and I've been hooked ever since! Even when I'm traveling with others, I will often schedule it so that I arrive a day or two early or stay a day or two later so that I can have solo time. Single rider lines, eating ice cream for "lunch", riding things over and over again, just sitting at the train station to people watch, meeting characters quickly, all this and more make solo time super fun! Go have yourself a day filled with pixie dust!

I've taken several solo trips to Disney World and loved every bit of it. The only down side I found was wanting some company during dinners, but you won't have that problem. Just go and enjoy yourself.
