I will be going to SSR with my family for the first time. I will be traveling with 3 kids ages 7,4, and 8 months old. I am looking for ideas which area of the resort I should request. We are staying in a one bedroom condo.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If you want to be close to DTD, then Congress Park would work; if you want to be close to the Carriage House and main pool areas, then either The Springs or Grandstand would do (with some areas of the Springs a bit closer). I've never stayed in the Paddock or Carousel sections, so I don't know their advantages.
One of the other advantages of the Grandstand is that it's the first bus stop to the parks, and generally the first stop from the parks. With an 8 month-old and 2 other children, that might make traveling a bit easier. :thumbsup2

If you have a vehicle, the Carousel and Paddocks are closer to the exits. They are a longer walk to the main pool, maybe 10 minutes at the most. Carousel is the second bus stop and Paddocks is the third. Being on of the first is nice since you can find a seat getting on and one of the first getting off. Based on your post, I would suggest Grandstand. It isn't that far from the main pool and community hall, and it has it's own themed pool as well. Plus with little ones, you don't have to cross the road by the pool and bus stop. It can get busy at times.

I would suggest the Grandstand, since the pool and water area are right there, and the main pool is right across the road. Besides, Dad can keep busy watching the golfers.;)

We stayed in the Grandstand section (by chance, originally requested the Springs) and loved it. If you'll be using WDW transportation, the Grandstand is the first stop for both pick up and drop off. They have a nice quiet pool with a water play area, with young kids, a big plus. It's a short 5+/- minute walk to the Carriage House and main pool.

Have a great time....in whatever section you happen to stay!

We requested pool view twice and LOVED it. So peaceful to sit on your deck and watch the lakes and pool. We saw hot air balloons last time.

We requested a DTD view once and that was a view of the back end...ok, but not great.
