We just closed and decided to try to getaway in October. We booked a one bedroom from 10-13 to 10-18 at SS!
We have a DS4 and a DD2
any tips about the resort?
Building location?
food service in the resort?
Where could we rent a car just for a day or two?
and, where do I get the countdown clock from ?

Congratulations and welcome home!!

We have rented from Disney's Car Care Center. They will pick you up and drop you off at your resort. For our December trip, we want to rent a car for 1 weekend day, for church and to go see Ice at Gaylord Palms, and for a weekend 1 day rental we got the best rate from Enterprise. We've never used them before, so I can't comment on the service. However, our experience with the Car Care Center was perfect!

You can click on my counter to get the link to The Ticker Factory's site. That is click on the words "ticker factory."

Lucky you, you will be there for the preview of the Nemo Ride at Epcot!!!

Someone will give you the tips about SSR, I'm sure. We only were there once, before the new restaurant was opened.

Bobbi :)

Welcome Home! Hearing that for the first time when you drive through the security gate area at Saratoga Springs - it feels so great!!!

We've stayed in the Paddocks a short walk from the quiet pool and bus-stop. The one thing I would recommend is get a higher floor than first floor so that you can enjoy the balcony (rather than a patio).

Hi, we are going from the 15 to the 22 of October, I requested to be by the Carrage house, & High Rock Spring Pool, In the springs section, This will be our First Time also going home. Last January we used our points to go to Keystone Colorado for skiing & in May we stayed at the Board Walk. I liked the convience at the BW to walk to Epcot, but everything else was a pain, we bought the cups but when ever they needed to be filled we would have to refill them at a location on the Boardwalk not in the hotel because they do not have a food court. I like the convience of getting a cup of coffee in the morning & not have to walk far or drive to get it. The congress park area looks nicer with the DTD view & water view & its a closer location to walk to DTD. Well good luck........The Caitano family

I stayed at SS a month after it opened. You can walk right to DTD which is great. The one thing I didnt' like was the fireworks going off at midnight at PI. The pool there is nice DS really liked the waterslide. After having to walk to everything after staying at OKW I would say try to stay closest to the main area so you can run to the store and cafe without walking a while or driving. Have fun and Welcome Home.

Wow, you were lucky to get the one bedroom. I'm going over the 12th and 13th, and tried for either a one bedroom or a studio. I was told that I could have a one bedroom for the 12th, and a studio for the 13th. I could have gotten a studio for the 13th and 14th, but no one bedroom for both days (or the 13-15th either). I don't have big issues with changing rooms (since it's a short trip, we don't have much), so I went ahead and booked the one bedroom for Thursday and the studio for Friday.

So we may see you there! My DD (14) typically wears a ToT Stitch hat (the bellhop hat with stitch ears coming out), so if you see us, please say HI!

We just closed on the contract and with airfare low, we tried. We also got ressies at chef mickeys and cali. grill at great times! Now, a nemo show....I can't wait! We will look for you, my DD looks like Boo from Monster Inc. , you can"t miss her( of course with all the cinderella dress she hates to take off, the bandaids she loves to put on and all the necklaces she likes, most people can't miss her)

They have stopped the midnight fireworks at Downtown Disney due, ( I would imagine!) to complaints from SSR! Stayed there in June- right across from the main pool and LOVED it! Have a great time.

Congrats! I'm going to SSR for my first trip home (with my dad and sister) on the 18th. I can't wait!

Congrats and welcome we will be goinr to SSR on Oct. 21-29 this will also be our 1st time there we have used HH before and loved it. it is alot different then A DW alot more relaxed time.

With kids, definitely stay at the Springs. It is the closest to the main pool, food court, check-in, etc. My DH and I stayed at Congress Park last time, which we loved because of the great view of DTD (and easy access to it as well), but when we go in 2008 we will have a 16 month-old son by then and two of his cousins who will then be 7 and 5, so we are going to request the Springs. You will fall in love with the resort! We stayed in a 1 BR and we will never turn back now! Enjoy!
