going to disney&uni again! Sep 2011

I have no real plans except the fact that we are staying at the Ayre's Hotel. The rest will fall into place.

Gah! They just announced the Disney Visa free dining offer for August-ish through late September. Which means the (second) general public announcement will be made soon.

Gotta make sure I have all my dining plans set, so I don't miss out!

Right now I have a hopeful late breakfast at Kona set for the whole family on the OKW checkin day. Then nothing until we're alone (and my cousin logged off FB just as I sent her a chat message to ask her if she wants any sit-down meals). Then we have other meals, but I'm just not *happy* with them...harumph.

There are so many different choices I bet it can be tough.

We're pulling away from the idea of staying at the Nick Hotel. Just not enough time to do the place justice; we'd mainly just get to experience it as a place to sleep, and I know us well enough to know that that would be frustrating!

So now it's up for discussion again.

Saw this on a friend's FB today.

MLK Jr.:"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"

Liked it.

Hi Molly,

I decided on Ayre's because we got 2 free nights. If Scotty and I wanted to go alone the room would all be taken care of.

I love that quote. I am stealing it for my tumblr blog.

It is especially poignant for me, my sister died in her sleep last night.

Oh Michele.... I am so sorry.

Know that I'm thinking about you Michele, and your whole family... Just b/c I might post about frivolous things doesn't mean I don't know that deeper things are happening. More hugs for you: :hug::hug::hug:

Non-frivolous..sick again. E actually got sick close to 2 weeks ago, i brought him to the ND for a strep culture almost immediately (didn't have an interest in him getting as sick as he was in Oct 2009), but it was negative. They said it was a virus and he almost certainly wasn't communicable at that point. Either they were wrong or his virus had an incredible incubation period. He was fairly miserable, but at least he didn't have to take care of anyone while ill.

Making it worse? Robert's going on a jetplane on Saturday morning, gone for 2 weeks.:headache:

SUPERFUN! (but frivolous still, sorry)

Thank you Molly.

Too bad about E getting sick. How did his performance go? II take it you are sick now? You poor thing especially with R getting ready to go on a two week trip. I am sure that some trips are harder than others.

 Sorry you're sick. That just stinks to be the only grownup around and sick at the same time.

How did E's performance go - did you get the bouquet of lego's??

I have not communicated clearly, I can see that! :) My volunteer stuff, so far, was for the photos. The recital isn't until Memorial Day weekend.

I really have to call the guy about the Legos!

Things work out so much better when I get sick first... That way I know what E is going through. When I get it last I realize all sorts of mistakes I made. OMG if I'd known that his face/head hurt THAT much while he was trying to sleep...poor baby! I had a desperately miserable night last night...what is it that colds do to make you hurt like that? And all of it happened, just like with E, with a fever that barely even hit 100. So weird.

Worse thing about the work trip? He gets back for 3 days then goes off again. He's getting back on the morning of E's birthday, which is the day of the first at-the-site dress rehearsal. :headache:

Got a relatively lovely deal on a Lego set today. :)

When asked about birthday gifts, E wanted one set. The Temple of Doom set that was in one of his catalogs.

I finally got around to looking online for it, but oh gracious goodness me, it's been discontinued, and boy oh boy do the ebayers know it! I saw it listed at a BuyItNow for $250! (89.99 in the catalog)

Today we went to this Lego place, the one where the Lego Master has his set-up, and while the place itself was a disappointment (and I didn't bother asking about if they could make a bouquet since the only person there was a teen manning the store and speaking rudely and incoherently and annoyingly), I realized we should stop at the downtown toy store on the way home. So we had a nice walk along the downtown main street, and the toy store lady said "I think we have one Indiana Jones set left upstairs"...

I figured it would be disappointment, and didn't head up there immediately. But when we did, OMG...THE set. The ONE! Not only there, but on discount...30% off. Fainting!

So I got it, and told E that he was to forget it ever happened, LOL.

He just came in again, saw the bag sitting there, and gave me this silent look of longing, of HELP ME, of "woman put that bag away it's killing me!". Poor thing. He's really looking forward to playing with the set. So I'd best put it away so as to not destroy his psyche and tempt him too much.

So glad we went to the disappointing lego place and then the toy store!

That is too bad about the lego place. I would have been terribly disappointed. But, how thrilling that you found the set and such a good deal on it at the toy store.

Poor E I feel his pain, there is noting worse than knowing something is there, it is yours and you can not use it.

I know...I feel bad about keeping it off limits, but I also know him, and know he would ultimately be disappointed if he got to play with it before his b'day.

I watched that happen with Robert two gift-giving occasions in a row... "Oh my gift came in the mail, can I start using it, just wrap the box and I'll be happy"... So I did, and the occasion came up and he was bummed! He had to keep reminding himself that he had the gift, that he wasn't short-changed. I won't do it anymore with Robert, I make him wait it out! I'm so mean. :flower3:

Yeah the kid at the Lego place was...well just not the best with the public. And especially not good with kids. Which is, ya know, a problem with a LEGO place....

I know what you mean and at E's age he will move on to other things. Out of sight out of mind.

I am like R. I will tell Scotty oh this is my present and it's okay if I don't have anything on the day. I then suffer from feeling sorry for myself.

This year I didn't quite have a birthday and neither did Scotty. His birthday was Monday and mine was Tuesday. I figure that we will either celebrate later or skip this year.

For those of you not on the east coast, FREECOLLAGE is a code to get a free 8x10 collage print from Walgreens, but it's only good through tonight!

I wish I had seen this last night.
