Hello All,
I am planning a trip to WDW and for the first three days I will be there alone (husband comes for last two days). I am wondering if anyone has tips for the solo park hopper. What things can I do alone that a partner might hinder? I am thinking of hidden park things that are fun to see, but you might not do them if you had to worry about others.
Also, if anyone has sample schedules that indicate what attractions to see first in each park, etc. I would love hints.

Thank you all!!!!

Welcome to the DIS! :wave2:

I just wanted to say that I think you'll have tons of fun! I've never gone solo, but I'm probably going with just dd4 this year. I would love to go completely alone, just to find the "hidden treasures." :)

Well I had never been to Disney alone until last year.

My wife got sore ankles and couldn't go but insisted I did (ok, it's more relaxing for her while Im gone :)

I had a blast! I love being there with her, but I'm more of a GO GO GO type of person where she likes to relax and go at a nice pace.

I went in there and literally hit it all!

I did Splash over and over and over (it was a late closing evening)
I did HM many times
I did so many things, and truly that was the first time I've been at Disney where I felt like the figurative "kid in a candy store".

When you're with people, you have to take their desires into consideration. When you're alone there, you only take yours and you do what you want to do when you want to do it. It really is a different and refreshing perspective. HOwever, I love being there with my wife and would give nothing in substitute for that.

I've never gone completely alone, but my husband didn't go last year. We went with friends, but my DS (10) and I ended up spending most of the days together, just the 2 of us. We'd meet up with DD and friends for lunch, and then spend the evenings together, including dinner. My son is exactly like me, and we had a fantastic time. It was so different not to have to worry about what other people wanted to do. Of course, when we go as a family, it's the very best, but I was happily surprised that just the 2 of us had such a great time.

If I were you, I would figure out what things you really want to see and do that your husband has no interest in. Then do those on your own.

Hi MichelleG - Welcome to DIS!!!

Going solo is alot of fun. You're free to make spontaneous decisions or as civileng68 noted, do your favorite rides over and over again. Also tours are alot of fun - book one your interested in!!! Eat when you want, sleep when you want - WDW is your oyster!! (where did that come from??)

Also, check out the adults and solo board - there's always great ideas there too!!!

Have fun!!! :cool1:

I've been solo 6 times (so far) -you'll love it! The only tip I have for you regards eating. If you're at a counter serve place, make sure you have everything you need before you sit down, because if you have to get back up to get something you forgot, you may come back to find your food gone and your table taken by someone else. Similar tip goes for sit-down meals. Be sure to tell your server if you want to get up to go to the ladies room-I lost my dessert this way once, cleared away by a CM who didn't know I was coming back (although she so apologetically replaced it).
Any other questions, feel free to ask.
