Going to DD during construction

On our upcoming trip, we'd like to head to DD one afternoon or evening. We'll have a car to use, but I'm wondering if it's better to take the Disney buses back and forth from our resort because of all the construction at DD these days.

I'm figuring that parking is more limited and that's it kind of a hassle around there. But it also seems that whenever I take Disney buses to and from DD, it takes FOREVER for whatever reason. So I'm torn on which is best this time.

Thoughts? Thanks! :)

For the time of day u want to go I would take the Disney bus there. Parking is limited and traffic sucks. For our upcoming vacation we will be going there as well but we will be getting there when they open so hopefully traffic and parking won't be so bad yet.

The parking garage is open on the West Side. Plenty of parking there. Traffic in the area is still congested.

The construction has made the traffic on the roads around DTD horrible. Avoid it at all costs.

Was there last week and took the DisneyBus from CBR to DD 2 nights. The bus ride was smooth there (both around 7PM) and back (return around 11-12PM). There was traffic, but the rides didnt take any longer then 20 mins.

I was there on 12/14 and 12/16 and had two very different experiences. I went at about 3pm the first day and was able to easily park in the parking garage. I finally understood what the hoopla was about. The garage itself is not ugly. The placement is. Totally ruins the drive up. It also takes a long time to actually start walking to any shops/restaurants. That was the good day. On the second day we did not get there until about 6pm. We had to park on the right side of the street and then walk quite a ways cross the main street and walk quite a bit more to get near World of Disney and then walk to Fultons that night. After a full day at the parks, we were very tired walking back. The entire place is walls. Unless you are going to the Marketplace Coop or a restaurant don't bother.

We won't be back until 2016/2017.

On Sat I went via exit 67 at 6pm-once on the road after exit 67 traffic was 3 rows deep. I couldn't get off and had to go to the next exit which was by Caribbean Beach Resort. Traffic was backed all the way to there. I had 7:30pm tickets to the movies. I went to Saratoga Springs, parked, and took the bus. The bus was easy, however they now only have one bus stop on the Marketplace so we had to walk to the West Side (I think there was a boat but figured it was faster to walk). The congestion of people was awful, especially when we got out of the movies. I will only now go early in the day until after the holidays.

The buses can get bogged down, I sat behind one for 3 light changes last week. It is just a mess down there right now. Take a boat if you can. Otherwise, leave yourself lots of extra time for reservations just in case. Construction is moving fast though.
