Going to Beaches in Negril Jamaica...

The last time I was in Jamaica was 18 years ago on my honeymoon. We are now taking our children there. Is it safe to travel out to one of the markets or would you limit yourself to just the resort? My children are 7 and 14. Thanks!

We've been there a couple of times, and never ventured off of Beach's property. We figured the armed guards at the property limits were a pretty good sign that we needed to stay put for our own safety. On a lighter note, we really enjoyed both of our stays!

We went to Negril a few years ago and stayed at an all inclusive resort. We only left the resort for shopping and to go to Ricks Cafe since our resort had everything we wanted to do. Our hotel provided a shuttle and we felt safe. There were lots of other tourists at Ricks Cafe
