Going Thur. June 28 and Fri. June 29th. Which day to focus on DL vs. CA?

Sorry to post such a specific question. We've only ever been for one day, and never to California Adventure.

-- Does the opening on Carsland mean that people will be clustered over there, making DL less busy?

-- We have two-day park hoppers. Would you literally hop all day both days based on FastPasses and priorities, or would you spend most of one day in one park and most of the other day in the other? If so, on which day would CA be less crowded? Thursday?

The three times we've been to DL I've planned every step of the day. But this time I'm just thinking go for my kid's top priority (head straight to Star Tours and also get FastPass for later Star Tours -- or are they done doing FastPasses for that ride; I don't see it on the site list).

Two days seems like a long time since we've always crammed DL into one day. I'm thinking of just playing it by ear for the most part. Crowds don't bother us much.

We'd like to see World of Color and whatever CA stuff my kid (age 7 1/2) is into, which is more Phineas and Ferb and that type of thing, though he might get into the Cars stuff one he sees it's there. (He doesn't know we're going.)

We are visiting the same days and I am wondering the same this. Which park to focus on which day?

I am probably over thinking this but I currently have DL on the 28th and DCA on the 29th so I can use MM on the 28th however, because we are not staying in the resorts, I am worried about the resort crowd at DCA on Friday from 7-8.

The crowds at Disneyland probably won't be that bad, I went today and they were extremely low early in the morning (I got there at opening) and left around 2. I'm not sure what day to go, but I do believe DL may be less crowded due to the Cars Land opening and more people seem to be running towards Disney's California Adventure.

They do have a Fast Pass still for Star Tours, it's on the same side as Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters. People still use them somewhat.

Personally I would spend one day in one park and the other in the other park, I don't like running back and forth for FastPasses, I find I enjoy just staying in one park and enjoying my time.

I would say with an 8:00 opening for both parks, as long as you go early you should be able to ride your top priorities without too much trouble. I would recommend doing one park first thing one day and the other first thing the second day, hitting your top rides in each park first thing.

Also both parks have pretty long hours those days (11:00 for DCA and midnight for DLR) so even though it may be crowded, you should still have plenty of time to fit everything in plus a mid-day break if needed.

I would personally play the park-hopper thing by ear. If you go early, you can get a lot done by lunch, then decide if you want to go to the other park or stay put. I tend to agree with Dole Whip on staying mostly in one place - even though the parks are close together, it can be a lot of walking from one end to the other!

I will be there too - SO excited! We are staying at the DLH from the 28th until the 1st; that wake up call will be coming early!!

DCA will most certainly be less crowded on the 29th because So Cal AP holders are not blocked out on the 28th and that's their last day to see the new offerings before their APs are blocked out until late August.

If crowds are like this past weekend, DL crowds will build much slower than DCA's. It seems as though people are starting out at DCA and slowly hopping to DL later in the afternoon. If you can do the opposite, you will be great! The only problem is that in order to do any of the Carsland attractions with short-ER waits, you'll have to be there by at least 6:45-7AM (if not earlier) on at least one of the days. Also tomorrow starts all of the DCA early admission options, and we don't know how those will affect crowds either (or even what attractions will be open).
