Going through Ebates with Hotels.com

Does anyone go through Ebates and book hotels with hotels.com? Do you still acquire nights for the Welcome Rewards promo? I am assuming you must pay for immediately instead of paying at the hotel when you arrive, right?

My husband has 4 trips before the end of this year to go on. If all goes well I am hoping to have 20 nights under my belt and have two free or (severley discounted nights) in my account for next year. Hoping I can use one at Disney and possibly let a family member have the other.

Anyone know? Thinking about doing a room only at either AOA- little mermaid room or CSR. If they would go only with the rack rate of the room and not a sale price of it that Disney will "most likely" have on it, I will go for a AOA room for sure.

I can't answer your question specifically, but knowing what I know I think you should be fine. I used to travel a lot and would book my Hilton or Marriott hotels through shopping portals, and it never had an impact on my earning my Hilton or Marriott points. So, I think you should earn your Welcome Rewards just like you normally would. And as far as payment, the few times I have used hotels.com it has depended on the hotel when payment is made. Some required payment then, some gave you the option to pay at check-in, some gave a more discounted rate if you paid at booking instead of at check-in, etc. Just be aware that you won't see your cash back immediately, it won't post to your account until you complete your stay.
