I'll be heading to the parks alone today and probably Tuesday & Wednesday. Have any of you ever gone solo? What do you like/dislike about being alone at Disney? Anyone want to meet up? :)

I am doing my first solo WDW trip in October, but I did Disneyland solo unexpectedly and had a GREAT time. I really felt so free. I didn't have to ask anyone where to go, what to do next, what they wanted to eat, I just did what I wanted and when I wanted to and I had an absolute blast. I remember getting a hot dog and sitting down listening to the band play Christmas carols and just relaxing thinking "wow this is great, I can do whatever the heck I want today!" I am sure WDW will be the same!

I was afraid I would feel lonely but I really didn't. Everyone was so friendly and when they found out I was alone, I can't even tell you how many couples/groups of young people my age told me I would be more than welcome to hang out with them that day if I wanted company. I was flying home the next day so I passed because I wanted to move quickly, but it was a really great experience. People were also very willing to help me and take photos of me since this was before front-facing cameras in 2010. I hope you have a great time!!

I've done solo. I don't mind it for short trips. I don't usually do TS dining and I do kinda miss the company. You can have a lot of fun and get a lot done though when solo. Have a great time.

I've done 2 Solo trips and I love them!! You can sleep in or stay up as late as you want. Eat too much and drink more Margaritas without having anyone say to you "Really another Margarita??" LOL :P
Ride, shop as much or as little as you want. Enjoy the moment.

I wind up on my own because I can't do coasters, etc. with my family. The last time I didn't mind it at all. I will be alone some of the time again in August and it doesn't bother me. We do meet up to eat though. That would be the only thing I would miss if I was totally alone but I think you will be fine. Just make your own fun and have a great time!

Solo in Disney is my favorite way to do it. I went for 10 days solo this past November, and had a blast. It was so relaxing and very liberating to go where I wanted, when I wanted. I met so many new people, met up with friends who were down the same week, went to Uni/IOA one day. It was one of my favorite trips yet. I love waking up early in Disney, so being able to wake up and go without having anyone else to worry about, was great. I would explore the parks, get a snack and sit on a bench and just relax and people watch without anyone rushing me to the next ride/attraction.

I prefer going solo. I love going where I want when I want and for as long as I want. My trips are between 8-10 days long and I love being able to pick whichever TS restaurants I want without worrying about anyone else. Call me spoiled but having someone else along for the entire trip just isn't fun for me. :)

I've been on 2 solo trips and going on another one this Sept., I love them. In all honesty, I'm used to travelling solo as my honey hates to travel unless it's diving and my son is grown and can't always go with me. I love to travel so if I want to do it, I do it solo. I don't have any problems eating at TS restaurants solo, but if you've never done it, it might be a good idea for you to practice at home by going out to eat by yourself a time or two. I have my kindle ap on my phone and just read or look around. CMs don't know if you are alone all day or if your spouse/family just don't want to ride that ride so they blink an eye. WDW is one of my favorite solo places, it's relatively safe and the kind of place you can just sit there and people watch or go, go go if you want.

Before I met my partner, I used to go solo a couple of times a year. I always had a great time! I ate at TS locations all the time too....the servers never made be feel awkward or anything. As previous posters have said, it was great being able to do what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it. It actually took some getting used to planning and adjusting to trips with someone else! I think you'll have a super time.

Love going solo, I did a 10 day wdw trip and a 5 day DLR trip. Loved TS only issue was at Le Cellier when I wanted to use the bathroom while I was still having dessert. When I returned the server was cleaning my table...

I love going solo I can do what I want when I want.

Thanks everyone for the stories and great advice! I definitely feel more comfortable and excited about being in the parks solo! :)

I've done 3 solo trips now and have loved them all. I miss my family, but I also enjoy the freedom to do what I want to do when I want to do it. Plus, dining bills are so much cheaper. lol

I am going on an adults only trip next week and will be spending a morning at AK solo while DH plays golf. I've never gone solo either, so it will be a new experience for me too! I was a bit unsure at first, but after I was reassured on here how much fun it can be, I'm actually really looking forward to my solo time!!!
