I've been to Disney World a few times. I will be there during December for a week and I'm wondering what are there to see during the Christmas time.

I'm looking forward to see the Christmas theme decorations. Currently, I think it's mainly Epcot, MK, and the Grand Floridian. What other places have good presentations on the Christmas themes?

I'll be eating at some new restaurants I haven't been. I thought of booking the Boathouse, but the food is too much. They serve it for two, and I won't be able to finish it all. I'm planning to see the Candlelight Processional using a restaurant reservation.

For Downtown Disney, is there only one bus transportation area? There was two on both ends of DTD, but I think with Disney Springs, they closed that off, correct?

Also, what do I need to do to get a (car) boat ride by the Boathouse in DTD.

Any additional ideas where to visit for the Christmas themes would be great.

I am going from Dec 1 till the 9th just to see the decorations. This is the last year for Osborne Lights at DS so that is a MUST do. I will make sure to get there a few times, it's fun to grab a nice holiday drink at the little bar nearby and then wander through the area. They didn't have the snowball last year but there are some other Christmas themed ones that are almost as good. Make sure you stop to watch for a while, the Transiberian Orchestra music is great with the lights.
Also, make plans to see the Candelight Processional at Epcot. You can do a search to see who is doing the recitation. I made my plans at the time I am going because I want to see Neil Patrick Harris and Whoopi Goldberg.
I always either drive my own car or get a rental because I like to get outside to the outlets etc. I love doing the resort hop to see the decorations at each resort. It is so cool the way each resort is decorated according to their theme. Last year I tried to get to all of them and take photos of each tree so I could make a little book of the trees of Christmas but I missed 3. Maybe this year.
AK does not decorate the way they do at the other parks, just the big tree in front of the park and a few decorations. But each park has their own themed tree and each one is great. I think AK tree is the best of the park trees, Epcot runs a close 2nd.
It depends on where you are staying regarding getting around to DTD. If you are at one of the resorts the best way is by bus. The boats go to DTD from Old Key West Sarasota Springs, and Port Orleans/Riverside. Boats take a long time. The parking garage is at the end of DTD, near Cirque... I havent been to the parks since January so I don't know if they have finished the parking areas near World Of Disney but in January that whole area was closed and traffic was a nightmare. I usually stay at Saratoga Springs and walk over to DTD.
If you are going during the time I am there I would be interested in trying Boathouse. I usually go to WDW with my grandson and he has a different idea about food. I am a grandmother but at WDW I am a little kid, and can keep up with the best of them.

Going 12/11 to 20. Best decorations--Same as mentioned by PP, but I would certainly add Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge to the list. Have a great time; I know I will!!

I went solo for a few days for the first time last December, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed that trip.... I experienced no problems along the way and found that I never felt either lonely or alone. I am planning an even longer visit this year (from 12/1 thru 12/7). I would be happy to share a meal, a drink, or a coffee with another (or a few) solo visitors.

I just planned a short solo trip for December as well! I will be there 12/6-12/9. This is my first solo trip so I'm nervous but soooooo excited! We just did a family trip in Sept and I will be going back with my husband in January as well.
